If you are going from eastern Paris (Nation, Gallieni for example) bus 351 offers a convenient alternative to the RER or Roissybus. They run about twice an hour (some of the runs do NOT go all the way to CDG--be careful to read the signs on the outside of the bus). It makes lots of stops (and zig-zags through the back roads of Paris and the airport), but a ride from the Gallieni stop (last stop on metro line 3), takes around 50 minutes to get to terminal 1 and 55 to terminal 2A. It requires only 3 metro tickets, hence it is about 1/2 the price of the RER route.
The bus does NOT have space for lots of luggage, but the convenience is that you do not have to walk long distances for metro-metro-rer connections.
