Since it is the only way to search for KE business class award space to North America, I was wondering how many miles do I need in my SkyPass account to search for KE business class awards from ICN to North America?

If you're trying to use another program's miles, don't bother with the KE site. They make different inventory available to partners, so having inventory showing on the KE site isn't helpful.
I think I've read that you need enough miles to book the type of ticket you're searching for, but I've never tried so I can't be certain.

My mistake. Searched F availability before so just assumed it would show C too.

I suspect the folks at DL are behind this...They want to keep their miles useless until the upcoming (rumored) massive devaluation, when they will become worth much less.

You need enough miles for at least for one-way trip to search detailed availability, which is 52500. Search for high season will need more. If you're planning to convert other points to KE and want to know availability beforehand, you can call them.

Have you done this? I have Chase UR points that I can convert to KE miles, but of course I don't want to do that unless I know there is availability for the destination I want. The points should convert almost immediately, so will they stay on the line until the miles show up and then book the flight for you?

I checked availability using someone else's account online, and made sure there's a seat, and convert points (which appears immediately), and booked online. Well, it showed 9 seats are available, so I wasn't too worry about the worst case. I do think they will wait for you on the phone, but I'm not sure if they will hold a seat for you while converting points.
