Iberia Airlines Iberia Plus - Pay attention for IB tickets when flying on Vueling

I was told Sunday that as of last week any passenger flying on a IB ticket on Vueling operated flight that is more than 80% full and has hand luggage that they will try to take the hand luggage off the IB passenger as they get the bag free in the hold included in the price of the ticket. They are having problems getting flights away on time due to huge amount of hand luggage people bring to avoid paying charges. The lady who told me this was at Amsterdam airport on Sunday morning and then when I asked at Barcelona for my connecting flight they told me yes this is true. For me it was no problem because I was only travelling with hand luggage and it was no problem to check it in rather than try and find space. I dont often travel with these people but if you were looking to have a bag that just fits into the gauge they use, then dont be surprised if they tell you that you have to check it in. They were very nice to me but one guy had a real battle with them at Barcelona and they also made him pay.

Fixed.

And, btw, making modifications to someone else quoted text is completely wrong... smells a bit like "repression and colonialism" to me...
To the OP: thank you for this information. I'm already avoiding Vueling like the plague, but it's good to have even more reasons. :)

Jo no dubto que algú de Barcelona coneixeria bastant sobre la repressió i el colonialisme....
but the correction was to make it easier for all to read.

I got more information tonight while I was transit in Barcelona. They told me the problem is that frequent flyers with Iberia can check in online and get seats allocated. They then print out an Iberia boarding pass and go straight to the gate and often try sneak on with bigger hand luggage where Vueling tag all the hand luggage with a yellow tag. However they are really not consistant as one guy had 3 pc of hand luggage and some of the sizes that were tagged would never fit in the bag gauge they use.

What are the benefits to booking Vueling via the IB website rather then Vueling's? IB's website is more expensive, and even with the addition of the bag charge on Veueling I don't understand why?
Also, what are the OW Emerald benefits on Veuling if any?
