Interesting. I happen to be staying at one of these places in late June. I guess it is bonus for me. Not sure if it is worth adjusting where you stay to get this or not. I guess it depends on your situation.

Thank You OP!

Just registered, as there are two hotels on the list where I am planning to stay during this period. ^

Many thanks. Don't know if my travel plans will take me to them, but it is always nice to be able to register for a promotion!

Only 25 participating properties. Kind of disappointing.

I guess it's great if you were already planning on being at those properties but not sure it's going to increase business.

I guess it's great if you were already planning on being at those properties but not sure it's going to increase business.I moved a stay from an award to paid at one property, and from a non-participating to a participating property in another case. So they did get two extra nights from me...

Curse you Starwood! I hate the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers...but I can't walk away from the points and now I'll be hopping back and forth between there and the W Union Square. I'm your puppet SPG, make me do your bidding!

Thanks OP. I frequent the SFP Toronto Mississauga property quite a bit so at an AAA rate of $75, this promo is an absolute steal. Appreciate the heads up.

Do you get the additional 1000 points if you are on a C&P stay? Since a C&P stay counts as a stay per the terms and conditions, I would assume you would, correct? Can't find anything in the T&C's to say otherwise.

No. The FAQ says award (i.e. free nights and C&P) stays are excluded. C&P is not a point-earning stay.

Going forward, now that award stays are "qualifying", it seems the distinction between a qualifying stay and a point earning stay will be crucial, especially for promos. The latter will be key for promo purposes.

Weird. They must have updated the list as I just copy/pasted it!

Anyhow, I have edited my post.

This would be a good property for a mattress run as they have $100 rates available for April 5-9.

I'm surprised to see the W Union Square on the list. IMO the W on Lex is more in need of work.

Too bad this offer wasn't available back in January when I stayed at the Westin Bonaventure. Not as dumpy as my previous stay. That's for sure.

I looked at this rate for a number of hotels and there were cheaper rooms available without the promo code (i.e. if I booked the 1000 bonus point rate at one hotel the rate was $229/night BUT the cheapest standard rate at this same hotel was $189. The 1000 bonus points at $0.35/point (purchase rate) provide a value of $35 which still makes the 1000 bonus point rate more expensive.)

Huh... I see this promo as you get an extra 1000pts per stay at any of these hotels.

I was at one of the hotels on the list this week but did not sign up till today. So I could not test it.

Saw this pop up on SPG.com the other day and was happy to see the Four Points in Seattle I stay at each week was on the list! Didn't realize it until the 1K points started posting! Nice little bonus :)

Missed this post when it first came out.

Have a forthcoming stay planned at one of the participating hotels.

Another 1,000 points on top of a stay that requalifies me for 2013 Plat and gets me to within 6 nights for Lifetime Plat is icing on the cake. This plus the Plat Amenity, Go Green (no housekeeping) and Plat Starpoints earning = a nice bucket of points.

I'm holding off booking until details of the next promotion comes out. ;)

Just a heads up for those who have stayed at these properties without signing up.

I had two stays at the Sheraton in Tysons Corner over the past month and had forgotten to sign-up for the promotion. I finally signed up for the promotion last week and was retroactively credited for my prior stays.

Thanks for posting this, I just registered today. I have 3 stays since March 20, so tried SPG to see if they could confirm if I'd be credited for the past stays and they told me I would not. She said that if it were retro-active, it would clearly state so in the T&C's....

Any chance William could confirm please?

I think the FAQ addresses this:

I booked a stay prior to March 20, 2012, but it occurs within the promotion period. Am I eligible to earn bonus Starpoints?
Yes, as long as the member registers for the promotion by June 15, 2012, and stays at a participating property within the promotion period, they will earn bonus Starpoints.

Just changed from W Montreal to Sheraton Montreal (personal stay) on the basis of this... Ws are nice but so is 1000 star points and much lower rate.

I still prefer Le Westin MTL over the others. Wouldn't make the change in this instance.

Great deal for a Friday or Saturday night stay at the Sheraton Premier Tyson's Corner.

Prepaid rate: $75.65
76 x 3 (Gold/Plat regular) x 2 for SPG AmEx + 250 for amenity + 1000 for bonus = 1630 points for $82.46 (inclusive of tax). Comes out to $0.05/point.

I think I'll need one more stay to make Plat before vacation. Seems like a no brainier.

Indeed. I stayed twice at the Four Points Seattle (April and May) but I only registered today. I spoke to an agent (via the live chat) and he confirmed that I am eligible. Points should then appeared shortly in my account.

Just to provide an update. I got my points today (2000) even though I registered after my two stays.

The promo also says stay by June 30, so even if one had already registered, it would to too late to arrive and expect the bonus points from this offer.
