Air New Zealand Air Points - Seats To Suit Upgrades
Apologies if this question has been answered but I couldn't find it when searching.
Can someone confirm if you can still pay for confirmed S2S bookings upgrade (eg: Works to WD) or is this subject to the One Up roulette wheel too?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can upgrade up to either seat+bag, works or works deluxe with your credit card online.

You can still pay for S2S product upgrade, however the method of payment cannot be APD. I assume due to S2S being Y only, One Up does not apply (at least at time of writing).

You can also use your upgrade certificates to upgrade to Business Class (if available) or Works Delux.

What about if you purchase, say, a Seat+Bag using APD and want to upgrade to Works.
Do you still pay with credit card even though original fare was with APD?

yes, indeed, but the website still fails to provide the facility for pax to upgrade to Business. pax have to call the call centre to get a quote and also rebook. Of course you need to ask them to waive your service charge...... I thought AirNZ, so much so it loves its revenue, would allow for that online....

Yeah, I can only presume that they're worried about the complication of it, since not all seats to suit flights have business.

I was able to do this several times last year online. This for 767 flights.

that is interesting... I just tried with my bookings.... on 772, 773 and 767 and what I can see when I clicked "upgrade product" from AirNZ.com is what I have brought (which is usually seat only) and upgradable to Seat+bag, Works or Work deluxe with the price difference... so all in all, I do not think there is an option for me to upgrade to business or give me a quote....
I thought it has changed since I only tried once last year (before I made my recent post) but it seems that I still cannot..... so maybe it would be great if you can give some instructions so that I can try? It is usually tempting for me when they have short life Business Fares that I want to do an upgrade
thanks

I did it from the myairnz.com site using the Airpoint Upgrades (https://registration.airnewzealand.com/nonairredemption/flightUpgradeRedemption.jsp?currsite=www.airnewzea land.com) option.
Each time was from a "Seat" fare.

Yep, I did four of them last week from TT Seat Only to Business on 767. It doesn't work on "Upgrade Product" because that only allows you to upgrade the economy class "product", not upgrade the "class". As serfty points out, you need the "Request an Airpoints Upgrade Award" at the top of your list of bookings and then choose which booking you want to upgrade.

oh... if you talk about airpoints upgrade, then it is ok, I do a bit of that, but sometimes I am willing to pay a bit more so that I get more SP... and in that case it is not possible.
