My TravelPro finally bit the dust, so I'm looking for a lightweight replacement. I've been looking at the Rimowa Salsa Air 26" - I really like it and would buy it except for the warranty. Only 5 years and does not cover 3d party damage. Also looking at Victorinox and Antler. Any thoughts and advice would be very welcome as I have to get something this week for a trip Saturday. Thanks!!

sorry- I know its super long- but the above thread should help.
Otherwise, I think Victorinox has a good product and warranty. Good Luck.

Look at the thread on life-time warranties with third party damage included. Get something from that selection. Travelpro Platinum, some Victorinox, some Eagle Creek, all (?) Briggs Riley, all Red Oxx fit that description.

26" inch is a good size because when it is fully packed it will be around 50lbs. The really big suitcases will be heavier when fully packed with normal density clothing.

Personally I wouldn't do Salsa Air. Rather Limbo luggage by Rimowa. But the exposed wheels are a bit fragile. A recent VERY unfortunate accident broke THREE of my four wheels on a big alu Rimowa. Continental had it repaired at no charge but still.

Take a look to see what COSTCO has. Their warranty policy is extremely good and generous.

You could try a Travelpro Maxlite 2 Carry-On. It only weighs in at only 6.5 lbs. :D

Light is good.

I have a large TravelPro. It's a nice bag. But that thing weighs 13 pounds empty. I bought it just before airlines started to really enforce the 50lb weight limit. If I had it to do over, I would have sought out a lighter bag of equal quality. Might not have been as easy back then, but now it should be easier.

Checkout the Travelpro Maxlite 2 (http://www.travelpro.com/collection.cfm?collection=Max%20Lite%202)- the larger bags weigh under 10 lbs.
