Where did/will you get the best/most (value) for your collected points ?

Evaluation of "Best and most" value is subjective...if you can define what your parameters would be, it could help us answer your question.

International? US? Hobbies? Special event?

Best: => Treatment/Suite
Most: => according to the Value

Location: all over the world

As stated above, your question is a bit too broad to be answered easily.

But to throw out a few random experiences-

1) Points at the GH Kauai... soooooooo worth it. And was upgraded to a suite even through stay was on points (love being Diamond).

2) Points at the PH Buenos Aires... AMAZING value. I dont remember the exact valuation but it was something like 3.2 cents.

3) Points at the PH Mendoza... considering its low category status, I got over 4.5 cents value, one of the best redemptions I've seen

4) Points at the HR Vancouver... was upgraded to a very nice room (Diamond status!) even though was staying on points

Generally speaking, I only redeem points when I'm getting 2.5 cents or better value, which with Hyatt, is not that difficult to do depending on where you are travelling to. I dont ever expect an upgrade when booking on points (and now that I'm only a Platinum, probably wont happen anyhow).

I know the PH Vendome also gives a great redemption for points statys, and so do a few other the other PH branded locations.

I haven't noted any difference in treatment based upon whether I used points or money to pay for a stay. So from my experience, the OP's category of "Best" is somewhat immaterial and the calculation is only one of "Most".

The 'value per point' is also hugely variable depending upon when you look up the cash price of the room relative to the dates of your stay. Some points I'm using for a stay this week would have been considered to be 'worth' about 1.8 cents each at the time I made the reservation, but today would be supposedly worth 2.6 cents each simply because the price of the room went up that much in the interim. Your personal ability to legitimately use various discount codes or rates also makes a big difference.

My view is that points should be strongly considered if, at the time you are making the reservation, the equivalent cash value of the points rated at 1.7 cents per point is the least expensive option compared to your other cash/certificate options after taking into account the codes/plans you can use plus the points you'd earn if you paid real money and the marginal value to you of the stay/night(s) towards elite status. In the end, points are just another form of money and will devalue if held too long.

Clearly GH Jakarta, hands down. ;) Even with the redemption having soared to a Cat II last summer.

I cashed in 145,000 for 5 nights and 3 dinners at the PH Maldives. Was given a Park Pool Villa which goes for about $1,000++/night. 5 nights is going for $6323 all-in right now which you can do for 110,000 points. That's about 5.75 cents/point ;)
