Las Vegas - Taxi or Shuttle to Renaissance for Mileage Run

I'm doing my first ever mileage run tomorrow into Vegas. I get in to LAS about 10:49 p.m., and am wondering if I should take a taxi or shuttle. I realize the price difference isn't all that much, but it is also adding up between my home airport and LAS for taxi fees (or whatever transport) and would like to minimize as much as possible. However in reading some of the threads it sounds as if taxi fees could vary depending on traffic/tunnels/strip. But I also don't want it to take forever on the shuttle either.

Hi,

To be honest, If you are arriving at 1049pm, you probably will not get out of the terminal until at least 11pm ( as you have to take a train from the United gates to the main terminal) and then wait for a shuttle with the potential for a few stops before the Renaissance.

I would probably just pay for the taxi ( c.$20 approx) and you can ask them not to use the tunnel.

Enjoy LAS!:)

So you are doing nothing else while you are in Las Vegas? If you plan to go out at all please be aware that the Ren is not that close(walking) to anything but the LVH.
If you want to see any site or visit the casinos you might consider renting a car.
BTW-I like the Ren very much.

Found that out this morning. Walked to the strip, took 30 minutes and was a bit tired as I had my backpack (what a wuss, huh!). They never mentioned the monorail! Ren was nice, gave me a free drink (labeled for silvers) on check in.gotta go plane door shutting!

Should have used the Monorail. It is perfect for getting to the Strip from the LV Ren.

Bus #108 is one of the viable options to go directly to Renaissance from LAS. If you are traveling alone or doing MRs, 108 is one of the most effective ways to get to a number of the convention center hotels (LVH, SpringHill Suites, Marriott, Courtyard etc).
