Club Carlson - Instant Silver

Hello FT'ers

I have made a booking for a month's time for 8 nights and currently do not have any status with club carlson.

Is there any way you can think of for me to obtain silver status before then (other than of course staying 15 nights!)?

One idea I had considered would be to apply for the marriott credit card (instant marriott silver status) and then status match. I would prefer not to do this if possible as I do not want another CC application on my credit file.

Are there any other ways you can suggest?

You can try getting Accor Platinum status (read Accor threads) and see if they match you from it to at least Silver, if not Gold. No need to apply for a credit card for Accor. I'm not sure if it's still valid, but I remember hearing that one could use a code to get Accor status.

Also, if you must apply for a credit card or need status later, I'd apply for Chase Priority Club Visa, which gives you at least 60K points (80K if you ask for it) which gets you Platinum status with Priority Club right after your first purchase/statement and then you can match to Club Carlson Gold.

Another way could be to just call Club Carlson and request if they can start you with silver status (letting them know of your reservation) and also if they offer a Gold/Concierge status challenge. (let them know you'll be staying quite a few nights on the road and Hyatt and Marriott have offered you a status challenge, but you'd like to stay in CC properties)
