Just wondering if I can still earn points on incidentals (in room movies, etc) if I am staying on a Hotwire rate? Ordinarily I don't rack up much, but I am in the middle of a 3 week stay up north and there's not much else to do! :)

Sorry points are earned on room rate only. Any incidentals and taxes are not included.

I just read the terms and conditions and that is correct when it comes to "participating hotel chains" and participating Hawthorn® Suites by Wyndham. The participating Hotel Chains are Baymont Inn & Suites®, Days Inn®, Howard Johnson®, Knights Inn®, Microtel Inns & Suites®, Ramada®, Super 8®, Travelodge®, and Wingate® by Wyndham. Per the terms:
Where points or mileage will be calculated based on the US dollar amount spent; only the room rate paid at a Qualified Rate will be considered. Non-qualified rate plans, taxes, food and beverage, and other incidentals do not qualify. For hotel stays outside of the United States, the amount paid will be converted into U.S. dollars at the exchange rate in effect when the Participating Hotel transmits the stay information to Wyndham Rewards
However, the same is NOT true of participating Wyndham Hotels & Resorts (WH&R) (Wyndham branded hotels, resorts or other lodging facilitates in North America, Europe, China, Dominican Republic, Panama and Netherlands Antilles):
At Participating WH&R Properties, points or mileage will be calculated based on the U.S. dollar amount of the total folio actually paid, including taxes and resort fees.
My question concerns TRYP by Wyndham. Which category is TRYP included under? There is one TRYP in New York and advertising states it participates in Wyndham Rewards, but why haven't the terms been amended to include it?

Hello,
Thank you for your question.
At TRYP hotels you earn points on room rate before tax only.
They are one of our newer hotels so they haven't been added to our terms and conditions yet.

TRYP hotels [...] are one of our newer hotels so they haven't been added to our terms and conditions yet.
And yet my first reaction at hearing that WR has a brand named TRYP is that it sounds like it's named after the old name for this program (TripRewards)! :)

What is the earning rate for TRYP? Is it per $ or flat 500 miles if you want airline miles?
Are the TRYP hotels in Brazil participating?
