Hi everyone about 5/6 weeks back I was watching 10 day package from Orbitz to czm from dtw staying at the hotel cozumel they were around $720 before coupon code
In the last 2 weeks they have jumped up by about $230,we plan on going the first 10 days of May, do you think they will come down before then.
Also they have suddenly introduced free breakfast buffet offer in the last 2 days
now if they were down to their last few seats as they say they r why would they introduce a new offer.

Best Regards David

Welcome to Flyertalk

The question of where the fares will go, up or down, is one of the most popular questions here on FlyerTalk.

The answer is nobody knows. When you see a fare you feel is OK, grab it, because while it's possible it will go down in the future, it's also possible it will go up.

Fare hikes aren't always because they are down to their last few seats. It's all about supply and demand, they could have a ton of seats available. If people are willing to pay the higher price, based on their statistics and the rest, they will charge whatever people will pay. If they find that they can charge more and toss in a free breakfast, they will do that.

All that matters to Orbitz (or the hotel or airline or whatever) is they believe they can get people to pay the fees they are charging, so that's what they charge.

Probably not, since you state in this post: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/online-travel-booking-bidding-agencies/1326189-full-flight.html, that the flight is full.

Supply and demand - lot of supply, the price goes down; lot of demand, the price goes up.

Fuel prices are not going down. Therefore airfares are not going down.

Nope, unless it's a charter flight. Once a scheduled flight is full, that's it.
