Qatar Airways Privilege Club - Latest check-in time?

I am new at QR (except for some SIN-JKT flights in the past), and had booked a BCN-DOH-SIN leaving BCN a few days ago. I never made it onto the flight because apparently they close check-in at BCN 1 hour before the flight leaves. (I arrived at the airport about 50 minutes before flight time, which is plenty of time at BCN.)

I was lucky to be able to book a (remarkably cheap) ticket on the SQ flight that left 2 hours later, and will probably get most of my money back, but I do have some questions:


Is it normal for QR to close check-in that early? Or is this just in Spain, or BCN?

Where can I find this information? I have gone through the E-mails that they have sent me, and have looked on their website, but can't find anything. I only see that they "recommend" to be at the airport 3(!) hours before the flight leaves.

In most station, check in counters will open 3 hours prior to the departure and close 01 hour prior to the departure.

And indeed, on this linked page the one hour cut-off is mentioned. But my default is set to the Spanish website, and I have checked again and there it is not mentioned. (Only the opening 3 hours beforehand is mentioned.) Maybe something to look at?

I regret to inform that on the Spanish version of Qatar Airways, there is no one-hour message on this link, http://www1.qatarairways.com/es/es/at-the-airport.html

Please allow me to to forward this issue to the concerned department to spicify the closing time for check in.
