Hyatt Gold Passport - HR TYO - Purchased Regency Club but now also Diamond?

Hi all,

I am staying at the HR Tokyo in about two weeks (one night only).

I am arriving from ZRH at 8:00 am to NRT.

I purchased a Regency Club room for about 80 USD more than standard room, but now I have Diamond Status. This is a non-refundable rate.

Do you have any experience with such situations?

Would it be possible to get an early check-in?

Who should I contact at the hotel?

Thank you!

Jan

Diamond status does not guarantee you a room on the club floor, just access to the lounge. Note that at the HR Tokyo the club rooms themselves are actually different (most would say nicer) than the other room choices. On my last stay club rooms were sold out and as a Diamond I was not upgraded to a club room (but was given lounge access). Your $80 is not wasted.

You should request for early check in, but it is only a request and might not be given to you.

E-mail:

tokyo.regency@hyatt.com

I'd estimate your ETA to be about 10:20 am by train and 10:40 am by bus. Assuming you have check in luggage.

I think you should just leave it as it is, you're not likely to get the $80 refunded in my opinion.

Early check in - depends on how busy they are. They might ask you to wait for an hour or so in the RC until they clear the room but you can just relax in there after your trip.

It's definitely better to be confirmed in a club room at this property, because Diamonds often are only given club access and upgraded to slightly larger rooms on the standard floors instead of to the actual club rooms.

Since you have booked a club room, ask for an upgrade to a club deluxe room, which is substantially more spacious than a standard club room. Club deluxe rooms are 50 square meters in size vs. 35 square meters for the standard club rooms.

Thank you very much for your advice! I'll report later (after my stay) what room I got and if I got early checkin. :)

If you booked "The Super Saver" rate although it had to be fully prepaid, it is refundable
and you could then book at a lower rate since it is still offered (even for one night). The rate description shows: "Full prepayment/Non-refundable 72 hours prior to arrival". I do not know of a prepaid non-refundable rate at that hotel.

Thank you for the info, I have usually had luck changing non-refundable rates. ;)

But since the above posters have advised to keep the Club Room booking, I will do so and simply enjoy my stay. ;)

Thank you again!
