Europe - Geneva Airport hotel recommendations?

Headed to Geneva this weekend for a week. Well, actually Vevey. I have a 7:10 AM flight out of Geneva next Saturday morning and plan on going from Vevey next Friday to Geneva and spend a night at the Geneva airport to make my early Saturday morning more manageable.
Any recommendations for a good, clean place at the airport? Not looking necessarily for a place where I can do a lot. Just a clean, comfortable place to sleep on Friday night. Oh, and also reasonably priced, for Geneva, that is.

I have stayed a few times at the Holiday Inn Express next to the airport when I can get a decent rate. Basic but fine place to stay but only if price is reasonable. If prices are high on the day you are going, there are much fancier hotels near GVA.

+1 It's perfectly adequate. There is a little bar in the lobby and a walking path to the Movenpick which has a number of restaurants and bars. Good to go there for dinner the night before (or the Ikea down the road!).
I spent a week at this hotel last year. :)

Another one is the Ibis.
Soulless and spartan, but close enough that you can walk to the airport in about 7 minutes, which is useful at that time of the morning if you don't want to be messing about with shuttle buses.
It also has a small bar and restaurant. Also soulless, but useful.

Thanks all for your suggestions. I decided on the Holiday Inn Express. That should make my departure early the next morning more agreeable.

It's an easy walk too. I'd allow yourself 10-15 minutes if you're in decent shape. I didn't bother with the shuttle.
Also: there is a shopping center down the street (away from the airport) that has a nice little inexpensive cafeteria restaurant thingie (food cooked to order though). Worth checking out, I had a couple of meals there. The supermarket also has salads, sandwiches, pizza, etc. in case you want something quick and cheap that night.

Thanks for the tips. See, Yankee and Red Sox fans can get along! :D
Wait a minute. Unless you're setting me up...........

We stayed at the Ibis and it is spartan. It was clean and we were able to drop the car at the airport and walk back to the hotel in a few minutes.

Couple other things I remembered:
1) The internet is pretty slow. If you complain about it they'll give it to you for free.
2) The beer at the bar is very good.

I am looking at GVA hotels for 11/3-5/12. I am not happy with the price of the Holiday Inn Express but I wish I could find a lower price for the Movenpick.
I got the STR Movenpick for 120 Euros 2 weeks ago and was happy with that, but GVA Movenpick shows $240 on their web even with a weekend 20% discount.
I tried Hotwire and when I combined it with a search for airfare it gave me a fair price for the Movenpick but then I don't think it shows up when just searching Hotwire for hotels at the airport.
Am I missing another way at getting at this? I will not be able to pay for advanced purchase rate before tomorrow or even as late as next Tuesday.
My housing is usually provided on my international trips so I am out of practice here and would appreciate some input.
When I go to the special page by Expedia where they do not name hotels, they show a 5 star at GVA for $150. Much the same is true when I use Hotwire. The description in both cases seems to factor that this is the Movenpick.
Am I looking at a decent price for Movenpick or will I like be disappointed with the hotel that shows up once payment is made?

Oh, and also reasonably priced, for Geneva, that is.
"Reasonably priced" and "Geneva" don't really go in the same sentence. :)
I've stayed at the Moevenpick a bunch of times and it's fine. Starling is my favorite but it's probably more expensive.
From the Moevenpick you can walk to a shopping area (a mall-looking thing) towards IKEA and eat at reasonable prices but they close very early (6pm I think and 7 or 8pm on Thursdays).

I have still been working on this and I am uncertain what hotel Hotwire/Expedia is trying to give me for $150 a night. Hotwire has the hotel as 4 1/2 stars and Expedia has it as 5 stars. I cannot find another 5 star hotel at the airport with Hotwire when I combine airfare with the hotel which allows me to see the actual hotels in question. When I search for hotels only, the highest price one at the airport is the 4.5 - 5 star room at $150 a night.
So what are the odds that I could just walk up to the front desk on the day I want in, ask for their best rate and see if they would match STR and charge 120 Euros a night? I need two rooms but that doesn't seem to help save any money since the price on the Movenpick web is a bit over $200 a night.

I think the response you'd receive would be a polite repetition of their rates. They will see the rates offered in STR as completely irrelevant.
I would take my chances with the $150 mystery hotel.

I am looking at hotels in GVA for this weekend. I see that the Mövenpick GVA is about $225/night. I was considering trying a priceline bid to get a 5 star for less than that. If they give me the Mövenpick, how inconvenient is it to get into town. I don't mind taking the train/tram. Per the Airport website, access to the city centre seems relatively convenient. It will be arriving from the US, so it wouldn't be a late night "on the town" so to speak. But we will be catching a train to Lyon at some point the next day. Thanks

Not sure if you actually want the Mövenpick, or if you just want to know in case it's your only option. Because with a train to Lyon to catch the next day I'd rather stay somewhere in town.
But yes, it's easy to get into town from there. You'll have to walk back a few 100 metres towards the airport to catch line 10. (No need to walk all the way back to the airport.)
Or walk a few 100 meters away from the airport in the other direction to catch tram line 14.

Thanks Koby, that is my general thinking too. I reserved a room in the town center and I think I will stick with that. I would prefer to be able to wander around, pop back to the room (if needed) and have (easier) access to the train station the next day.
