Thanks for the post. Booked a night for my summer trip.

Great deal, for what looks like a great property. Almost worth a dedidcated trip to LIS, and a 2 night maximum is appreciated as promo's such as this are usually for 1 night only.
Thanks^

Is this dead? I tried random 1 night and 2 night dates in March, April, and May, both weekdays and weekends. Lowest I'm seeing is around 133 euros/night.
Nevermind: Just found the "40night" promo button. I must have used the wrong link initially

Tons of availability still, go through my link and scoll down to 40 Euro promotion. Calendar shows availability.

Really? A trip to Lisbon just for a Sheraton?

I'm just sorry its only for two nights max. Had a great time in Lisbon the last time staying at the Marriott--even though the Marriott turned out to be off in the 'burbs.
Wonder if I can get two nights and friend can get two more?
Love riding those trams! :D

I do not remember seeing that the stays were not eligible for Starpoints. Seems like they just added this.

Mar 16, 12, 4:21 pm
They changed the terms (after many of us probably booked) and they cant exclude Starpoints on a published rate booked through spg.com. If points dont post, may ask Starwood Lurkers to intervene.

Very slimy:
Looked up my reservation on spg.com and under Rate Details:
Celebrating 40 Years Not Eligible For Starpoints
Looked at my confirmation email:
Celebrating 40 Years
So obviously they changed the terms after booking!

Booked one night, now being offered:
"Upgrade to Premium room for 15€"
"Upgrade now and you get all this:
High Floor Accommodation with fantastic views over the city
Bottle of Port Wine in the room upon arrival"
Worth it?

Indeed very true :) I was just wondering if anyone had any experience regarding the improved view of the city from the high floor accommodation?

€15 for wine and a view kinda takes the shine off the "deal" element for me. Wine in Portugal is extraordinarily cheap, as low as €0.89c in some supermarkets in fact.
I think I will be passing on the 'upgrade'.

This is a great price for this hotel, regardless if you don't get Starpoints.
I booked 2+2 nights, yesterday filled up to have 1+2+2 nights back to back. It's walking distance to most city restaurants. If you avoid the obvious tourist traps, eating out in LIS is lower price than most other west European Capitals, and quality good, so good value for money!
Thanks to OP for posting.

They did say Port wine, so 15€ for a bottle of port (assuming it's decent port) and the view is not unreasonable. You won't find a bottle of decent port at any supermarket for less than 7€. For red wine, however, if you're paying more than 4€, you're overpaying (unless you're a snobby connoisseur). Lots of great wine in the 1-2€ range.

I'm the type that will just hop over to Pingo Doce and get that 7 euro bottle rather than paying double, and pick up a frango assado to go along with it

Sunday, November 4 still there to get. Even paying lowest standard rate for 2 nights (€143 per night) gets you an average of €80 per night, which still is good for this property

Is this a good location for a tourist? I was going to stay in a local 3 star place. I also have buckets of SPG points that I could use for the other two nights or to be upgraded to executive floor.

It's not as good as it gets, but it's still pretty good :)
It's in a busy, more modern part of Lisbon a good mile or so from Rossio, which I guess you could call the heart of the city. The hotel's over a metro station (Picoas) so you can get to Rossio with just one annnoying change.
Looks like I could book Nov. 4 for 40eu, and cash plus points for the other two nights Nov. 5 and 6. Would I be able to use more points at check in to upgrade to club level for all 3 nights? I don't want to have to change rooms after one night. Also, I'm SPG gold. Will that get me any benefits at this hotel?
I see the airport bus stops right across the street and that would be a benefit when leaving on Nov.7. We'd arrive by taxi as we will be coming off of a Windstar cruise early Sunday morning and I don't think there is a bus from the pier to the hotel.

As there's moe than one of you, probably best to forget the bus. A taxi to the airport isn't going to set you back more than 10 Euro. But make sure it's a regular taxi with meter ticking, not some sort of hotel limo...

Thanks for the taxi tip, Ian. I decided to go ahead and book the one night at 40eu ($52) and 2 nights 4K points plus cash $60. I'll hope to be able to upgrade to club room for all 3 nights with 1500 * points per night when I check in. it is off season so hopefully I can do it. I mainly want club floor for the free breakfast and free internet.

If you're talking about a 750 ml bottle of real wine then you must be joking.
For red wine, however, if you're paying more than 4€, you're overpaying (unless you're a snobby connoisseur). Lots of great wine in the 1-2€ range.
I must be a "snobby connoisseur" then because, in my opinion, €4 is the starting price for a decent red wine in a 750 ml bottle in a supermarket. There's no such thing as "great wine in the €1-€2 range" in a supermarket in Portugal unless you're talking about 187.5 ml bottles.

Continuing OT, I noticed some Portuguese wines at the local supermarket, and splurged for the most expensive bottle at €3.75:D This was in Paris, but was surprised how affordable these "imported" wines were. Pretty decent French wines start around €3, but I usually splurge for the 6 or 7€ bottles.

Stayed their 1 night last week. Was grand.
Though for some reason I thought the room came with a 40 inch plasma screen. The screen was only maybe 24 inches.
Maybe I misread something somewhere.

On the hotel pics, it looks as 24 inches (http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/property/photos/popup.html?propertyID=292&showBookNow=false§ion=ROOMS)
Even in the Club Lounge, the TV screen is far from 40 inches (https://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/property/photos/popup.html?propertyID=292&showBookNow=false§ion=ROOMS)

Perhaps but not under the "40th Anniversary" title. I couldn't get my dates but at least my friends could for their June vacation. A great deal to say the least. Thank you Flyertalk again for these posts.
