For 3/23 it shows 734 and it says operated by TG, but I wanted to be sure before booking. Would not be OK with a codeshare flight actually on Lao Aviation metal. Anyone know? Thanks.

BKKROP Mar 14, 12, 5:29 am The Lao flight leaves @7.30am, the Thai flight at oneish, it is a 734, the same style of plane that flies to Phnom Penh, does this answer your question Aussie_flyer Mar 14, 12, 5:42 am Lao don't fly B737-400. They fly a much more modern Airbus A320. dsquared37 Mar 14, 12, 8:26 pm I thought QV was only using the Airbus to SIN. Did they switch up and replace the AT7 with the A320 on this route? TG still has 5 734s hanging around and they're not the most comfortable planes. The seat backs are often angled/misaligned, trays don't lay right and it's not uncommon for the seat back pockets to be ripped. If you're in C then row 11 has the most leg room. If in Y try for 39/40, the two exit rows. NB both rows have full recline. For tall people I'd argue that 39/40 are the best seats on the plane... and that includes taking into account C. Also, stay away from row 31 on this plane. yycworldtraveler Mar 15, 12, 9:14 am Lao don't fly B737-400. They fly a much more modern Airbus A320. The new Lao Airlines A320 is very nice...as long as you like green. I flew on it from VTE-LPQ in January. I would choose Lao Airlines over TG on this route if the QV flight is operated with the new A320. It even has AVOD (not operational on my 20 minute flight however). http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7206/6825009092_2ee9bee01b.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/21059969@N05/6825009092/) Lao Airlines - Vientiane (VTE) to Luang Prabang (LPQ) - New A320 Interior (http://www.flickr.com/photos/21059969@N05/6825009092/) http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7191/6971131765_bcf842ac63.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/21059969@N05/6971131765/) Lao Airlines - Vientiane (VTE) to Luang Prabang (LPQ) - New A320 Interior (http://www.flickr.com/photos/21059969@N05/6971131765/) Aussie_flyer Mar 15, 12, 10:06 am They are flying the A320 on the route now. I kinda like that green seating, quite distinctive. http://www.airliners.net/photo/Lao-Airlines/Airbus-A320-214/2070000/L/&sid=ac1222a0d50849b622d8f54f3f1c32fa dsquared37 Mar 15, 12, 12:40 pm The new Lao Airlines A320 is very nice...as long as you like green. A_Lee Mar 15, 12, 5:30 pm Well, I don't personally care for the color, but then TG's upholstery doesn't exactly win any awards in my mind either, so I don't think I'd base a decision on that. But what I have noticed about Lao Airlines is that they have one of the worst on-time records of any airline, or at least that was the case back when I was flying them somewhat frequently. You can sometimes waste most of a day just waiting for their flight. So thanks, but no thanks, I'd choose TG under all circumstances if there was a choice. QV should only be used if it's the only option, unless things have changed with them in the past couple of years. londonbus Mar 18, 12, 6:42 pm Lao Air may well have changed. I flew on a little turbo-prop with them last year from LPQ to HAN. Plane was immaculate and on time. They do seem to be operating modern kit. |
