with lots of pc points IC would be the best value
not sure if other PC properties got repriced during recent devaluation but if so you still have until mar 18 to call and claim them at the old rates - you may want to check on that just in case;
for example HI sokolniki is a decent midrange property next to metro and well reviewed by folks here on ft

Inexpensive, take the Aeroexpress (http://www.aeroexpress.ru/en/) to Paveletskiy train station, get on the green line, transfer to the red line at Teatralnaya, get off the red line at Sokolniki - exit metro, look for the tallest building around.
Expensive - take a cab - http://eng.komandir.ru/

My wife and I liked the Holiday Inn Simonovsky. Newish hotel in a nice neighborhood and 5 minute walk to the metro.

Free wired internet in the room. The hotel will loan you a cord. Free wifi in the (very smoky) lobby.

No, you won't find a single english language sign in the metro, except for the line map, on the train (and that is a recent development). Part of the joy of the visit.
