Stayed here on a Sunday night as a Plat, paying rack rate.
On arrival (11pm) the property was busy as there was a concert finishing at the adjacent venue. Many concert goers crowding out the only bar in the place :td:
Check in was fairly swift but during the process, the pre-printed key wallet was taken back and I was 'downgraded' from the 15th floor (club room) to the 9th.
Got to the room, not very impressed so called reception. They couldn't explain why I'd received the last minute downgrade, agreed it was wrong and came up with new keys within a couple of minutes. Great service recovery but really unnecessary in the first place. The curious thing was I was checked in by the duty manager but it was some older (grumpy) male at the front desk who told her to switch the room.
Room was too hot - cranked the a/c up to max and ran it like that all night, but the place didn't really cool down much. Pillows were too firm for my liking but I wasn't bothered by any noise.
The new room came with lounge access so had breakfast in there the next day - modest selection of cold food, pre-packed cheese and some rather dried up looking cuts of meat. Not even any toast, so I had cornflakes and a glass of OJ. Would have been annoyed to pay an extra £40 for that.
All told it was OK, but nothing more. My first meeting was nearby hence picking this place, but I'd not want to pay much more than £100 for this place.
