Fairmont President's Club - Continuing as Platinum under plat5

I wasn't able to find out about this senerio.

I qualified under the plat5 promo early in January and now have Plat status until Feb 28, 2013. Now how do I continue to stay as a Platinum until Feb 28, 2014?

Do I need to do 10 stays or 30 room nights during this calendar year or is it the same as the plat5 - 5 nights during the year?

So in a sense is the plat5 a "one-off" once qualified and then you are part of the regular program or, with each yearly renewal of Aeroplan Platinum you can re-apply the play5 promotion?

If continuing to hold an Amex Aeroplan Platinum, five nights with Fairmont this year will qualify you as Platinum for next year (expiry Feb/2014).

I've been using this methodology for the last few years and, combined with churning the credit card, my wife is now Platinum as well. In other words, we had more than ten nights with Fairmont last year (a minimum of 5 nights under each ouf our profiles).

Quick question (instead of new thread), I asked Fairmont CS today that I'll get EARLY Platinum status as soon as I complete 5 night stays
e.g. I have upcoming trips in April, so if I get 5 night stays in April, I'll call in to get Platinum, for 2012 (Certificates until 2/28/2013)

and I'll also get Platinum for 2013 again (Certificates until 2/28/2014), correct?

100% correct.

My wife had qualified as Plat5, even though she has 25 nights under her profile.. She's qualified this year for Feb 2014 already. I'll be doing the Plat5 myself this year.
