Hi All,

Im staying in NYC for a week at the end of May. I was looking to travel out the Lond Island and stay in the Hamptons for a couple of those days. So a few Questions:-

1) i was going to hire a car and drive, is that the best way of getting there?
2) We are looking for the best part to stay in, we want to relax, close to the beach and like a lively environment with good food. Any ideas?

3) Whats the weather going be like at the end of May?

Many Thanks

Luke

1. you need a car.
2. I like Sag Harbor, Southampton and more bohemian Montauk. both Sag and SH have good restaurants. Hotels are few and far between and typically of low quality. Check for B&B's instead.
3. Weather? Who knows - could be glorious could be wet and cold.

Some helpful pointers from the NY Times...

Note that the first link is three years old and likely a bit out of date, but should still provide some good direction.
