In the wake of Malev's demise, I'm just curious as to what happened to all those who held Mexicana miles and status.

Did they end up getting status matches? Could they convert their miles?

Are they still waiting on an investor takeover and a relaunch of MExicana?

I didn't have status on MX, so just lost a few thousands of miles... Lessons learned: when they announced BD purchase by BA, I used all the miles for a family vacation in Asia (actually 7.5k miles still wait for Avios conversion, if it will ever happen:D)

And FYI AB, AY and JL now offer status match to Duna FF members (but miles will be lost, anyway)... This not happened after MX bankruptcy.

Mileage conversion rarely happens out of bankruptcy. There are people who have lost millions of miles when AN when under this is why one piece of advice when choosing a frequent flyer program is to look at the financial viability of the airline if one intends to save miles.
