Hi:

I am traveling on Etihad next week from Toronto to Abu Dhabi with a 4.5 hour stopover before my connecting flight.

I will be traveling Economy so I doubt if there will be any lounge access - is there any decent lounge at the airport in Abu Dhabi with private showers that anyone has used?

I want to take a nice warm shower and change before I catch my next flight - the airline mentioned there are some lounges in T1 but I land in T3 - also has anyone used the Al Reem or Al Dhabi lounges? Do they have private showers and any idea how much it costs? The agent mentioned you cannot pre-book either*:(

I used the Al Dhabi lounge. This one costs 39 dollars and you got a buffet, a bar with very good staff and also there were private showers which were very relaxing during my stopover. On my returm I used the Al Reem lounge (because I became Etihad Silver so access for Y was free) but this lounge was not as beautiful and relaxing. Only two showers I think. If you have to pay go for the Al Dhabi lounge.

^ Awesome..thanks!

Do I need to go through customs at all? I arrive in T3 and my next flight leaves from T3 as well but Al Dhabhi is is in T1 I believe...?

There is a security checkpoint (xray and metaldetector) between T1 and T2 but tat is very relaxed. No need to pass immigration though.

Thanks.

For the record, I did end up using the Dhabi lounge and it was pretty good - the shower was clean and towels etc were provided. I was in transit between 730pm and 1130pm and the lounge was moderately busy so it was quite nice.

Nice food as well - a buffet and drinks. Overall, worth the 50$ they charged me.

The Etihad plane, however was quite crowded and I find their leg room is even worse than Emirates.
