Europe - Good budget hotel in Brussels?

I'm travelling by myself and I don't need anything fancy. I'm just looking for a simple room with a bathroom. Ideally this will be close to public transportation as I'll have to catch a morning flight out of Brussels. Any suggestions? As for budget, I want it as low as possible, but short of a hostel. I don't want to share a room with someone especially when I'll have to wake up at about 6 AM to head to the airport.
Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at Brussels Airport. They had a shuttle.
Their shuttle ran only in the afternoon so we got a locker at the airport and took the train into Brussels which is very easy to do. Tooled around, ate
waffles, went to the Music Museum and the park, trained back to the airport. Got our luggage out of the airport and got on the shuttle. They share the parking lot with a Holiday Inn which has free computers in the lobbby. I just walked over and used them. Next morning had free breakfast and shuttled back to catch our flight. The hotel was under $100.
I don't have any experience with really cheap hotels in Brussel (at least not for the last 20 years or so). But since HIX (which is probably more expensive than what the OP wants) is mentioned above I could as well mention the Ibis hotel (http://www.ibishotel.com/gb/hotel-3152-ibis-brussels-centre-gare-midi/index.shtml) next to the train station "Gare du Midi / Zuidstation". It's close to the city centre and you can take a direct train to the airport from there.
And if you don't need to stay in the city, you can also look at the Etap hotel (http://www.etaphotel.com/gb/hotel-5247-etap-hotel-brussels-airport/index.shtml) at the airport. (But from what I remember it wasn't really easy to get from that hotel to the airport terminal itself, even if it's located close the airport. It's actually almost next door to the HIX mentioned by anngi.)
(Between the 2, unless Etap is significantly cheaper, I would choose the Ibis.)

If the Scandic comes in at a budget price, it is well-situated. Out the door and a few steps you are in restaurant and bar land - A La Mort Subite is around the corner, Grand Place is a few short blocks away. Centraal / Centrale railroad station is close enough to walk to /from with a rollaboard.
