Air New Zealand Air Points - Awards to NOU

Hello,

Does Air NZ offer award seats in coach or economy between AKL and NOU? When I search using the ANA tool, It keeps saying there are no valid flights between these destinations. Has anyone successfully redeemed award seats to NOU?

NZ only fly Sat and Tue with their own metal, and codeshare with SB on Thu and Sun. Award seats would only be possible on their own metal.

thanks for the response! I just checked sample Tuesday and Fridays in March 2012, July 2012, September 2012, and February 2013... while it did show the flights in the ANA tool there were no seats available. Has anyone successfully found award space? Any idea when they get released?

I've just had a more extensive check and notice for some strange reason ANA doesn't see the Tue service (it does see the Sat one).

I'd try flightstats dot com instead - you're looking for X class for *A redemption (only operates with Y seating). When I checked it seemed NZ don't release any of the lower fare buckets on this route which seems odd.

I think flightstats has USA has POS (point of sale). The cheapest fare categories on domestic and shorthaul are for local sale only.

Well it's always worked fine for me on domestic searches. My understanding is that it operates as a simple link via the GDS. When I worked in London the GDS showed all classes on NZ but the airline only published fares down to T class if I recall correctly.

FYI, just now on IVC/CHC for NZ 8056 Tue 15/05/12 they show ...

Can anyone find one verifiable day where AKL - NOU or return is available on award booking anytime in the next 330 days?

Award seats will only be released at NZ's discretion - which varies for each route, and might be small releases in batches. There might be none available at present. Doesn't mean that some won't be made available at a future date, nor that some will!

You will probably need to check regularly, but if your travel requires more certainty, a paid ticket might be best.
