Though i am not sure, whether this information would be useful or not, however Jet Airways is charging a transaction charge of Rs 150 to any award ticket, even if you might have booked it last year.
Though, this is strange as this policy is also applicable for old tickets and even the supervisors are getting a strict instructions' NOT ' to waive off the same .
Be advised that i do not have any status with Jet Airways.
Moreover, what surprised me is the change in taxes. I selected a new date for DEL to SXR sector for April, and have to pay around Rs 500 more apart from transactional charge to change.
I also wanted to know if there is any way this amount could be paid over the phone as it's tough for me to go to city ATO and if i am unable to pay it within 1 week, they cannot ' guarantee ' the booking.
Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks and Regards

They are taking credit cards now - if the agent won't do so, ask for a supervisor. (But not on a Sunday - apparently the "supervisors" are manning the phones as front-line agents themselves! Therefore, according to Jet agents, no supervisors on Sundays!)

That was truly a horrible livery... :o
However, they still are losing lots of money, to the point where they can't afford taxes. In contrast, Ryanair and EasyJet are some of the most profitable carriers in Europe...
I think they really needed the extra cash from it...

Was unfortunate enought to fly JetLite on BLR-DEL sector yesterday.
- No boarding annoucement. No managed boarding.
- No greetings from FAs for pax
- This plane (VT-SIJ) had a broken toilet door (rear side). FA's just shrugged it off.
- No toileteries in toilet! Not even wipes.
- Pilots didn't made any announcement either during take-off or landing (not that I am fond of it. But no updates)
Looks like morale is very low among 9W crew.

Would try calling Jet and asking to collect the additional amount, unless have to go to the ticketing office.
Is there any way, they could release a seat for rewards for business as DEL - SXR sector seems to have all the seat available ( i know, seat map does not give the true picture, however i am assuming looking at the flights loads ).
They just sent out an email proudly announcing Rajdhani ((hard core, diabetes- and heart etteck-inducing Gujju thali joint) as the latest JetPunishment partner.

I agree, however this is applicable for bookings made before this policy was introduced :(
I hope i clear why i am upset.
I agree that policy do change, and have no issue's, however why you are enforcing the policies when the tickets were issued prior to introduction of the policy.I did explain to a couple of representatives, however they said, they are aware and many people were unhappy, however they would go as per books.
And it will probably cost them very nearly the same amount to process the fee transaction as the fee itself.

I just landed in BOM yesterday morning from LHR (on BA and it was refreshing to deal with down to earth crew who actually knew how to communicate with passengers compared to the stuck up and aloof Jet and KF crews).
After collecting my bags, i headed to the Jet Counter to get my miles, tax and services fees refunded after I cancelled a reward booking and few observations:
1) No Rs150 charged! I'm not sure if she forgot, could not be arsed, my 'phoren' accent or my good looks!
2) Full taxes & services fees refunded (Rs2047).
3) I still do not understand how one can make a 'seamless' and 'convenient' booking online but you cannot cancel and refund that same booking without jumping through hurdles and having to attend an airport ticketing booth.
4) Kingfisher still have a ticketing booth and they had 3 staff members in it. No wonder they are going down the pan. Do you really need 3 staff members to do the job of 2 or even 1?

Claiming what I'm about to post below is related to the topic is a bit of a stretch, but...
So the other day Delna was driving and the cabbie in front of us was happily hogging up both lanes on the causeway, instead of keeping within a lane. She kept honking, but he wouldn't budge.
Next thing you know, we're at the museum signal and she rolls down her window and lays into him.
Picture this being yelled out in very tootela Hindi in a very Parsi accent :
"Ay ! Aisa heejda ka mafeek middle mey kai ko drive kerta hay ? Eedher kay oodher nakki karo ! Idiot !"
("Go back to effing Bihar" was then muttered softly.)
She could totally have been talking to Jet Airways (so I just had to share)!
I'm still laughing. Too good !

I still say AI/IC have very capable crew, who've been trained to and know how to do their jobs very well. It's the question of whether or not they choose to do it.
The children now running around on Jet, however, I feel have three things going against them:
(a) it appears they were hired specifically because they're not quite 100 cents to the euro
(b) their age
(c) a very evident lack of training from their employer in recent years
So even if they wanted to do their jobs, they likely wouldn't know how.

My absolute disgust with Jet is reaching new heights.. Just got off the phone with a Jet Executive, and she has to be crowned the most dumb Jet Kid ever.. All I wanted to ask was why is their website not letting me do a web check in on to my flight.. apparently they still have CODE SHARE flights.. so I can't do a web check in on a code share flight... being Blue Plus, I can't do a tele-check in, nor can I reserve a seat.. so on a 5 hour flight, I am forced to do a manual check in at the airport and go with whichever seat is available..
when I asked her if there is any way I can assure myself a decent seat, her response- I could use my Jet Miles to book a ticket and then do a web check in..!!!!!!!!!

It means the same thing as it did with me.. that even after all the hogwash over no more Jet Lite flights, they are still going code-share on Jet Lite flight and so you can't web check in.. the funny part is, you can't do a web check in on the Jet Lite website either (or what is now the new Jet Konnect website).. Seriously, who comes up with such half baked dumb ... ideas..?? "Let's change Jet Lite to Jet Konnect, but let's keep the flights as code share, without telling the passengers, and also let's not let them do a web check in from any website.. this will be FUN..!!!! and also, let's remove the tele check in facility for Blue Plus.. yippie.. oh oh, and while we are at it, can be also open a small counter to sell AI and Indigo tickets right from our website..???"
I told the Jet Kid to transfer me to the cancellation division.. he sounded happy that I have found a solution.. Atleast for me, today is the day I begin my boycott of 9W flights, unless neccisiated by lack of flights from other airlines.. I would rather fly Spice and Indigo and Go air, than 9W anymore..

Welcome to the Club. I found it out last week. Ticket Booked in 9W website, but no web checkin allowed as it's a S2 flight, but operated with 9W7XXX code.
So in reality after all the Konnect/Lite rebranding, it's Still 2 airlines.

The fee is not being charged retroactively. The fee is being charged for a transaction that has taken place now.
I doubt it will cost them Rs150 to complete the transaction (150/- fee). However, if it does, would you feel better if they increased the fee?

Indian economy, along with the airline sector has grown faster than the labour force can keep up with it. People with better English have gone on to better jobs. I have seen Indian infomercials (in Thailand), which, I am sure are aired on Indian channels, about how learning would lead to success. I think, corporations are scraping the bottom of the barrel now. Customer service in India, especially for Indians does pose a challenge. DO you hire based on English proficiency or on proficiency in a few Indian languages. After all, not all Indians who fly possess this proficiency themselves.
The sad things is that many Indians, do not learn their vernacular properly and are unable to learn English. How does a company recruit? Those with better English skills have other, more marketable, skills too.
Is there a "hinglish" accent? There isn't one accent in India, whether the speaker is endowed with fluency or not.

There is statistical correlation between obesity and diabetes, but the issue of which comes first weight gain or diabetes, or whether there is another underlying issue that causes both, has not been resolved. There are fat people who do not have diabetes, as there are skinny people who have diabetes.@:-)
In any case, an airline meal or two cannot give you so many calories that a little exercise cannot burn. One can also eat a smaller portion. Longest flight in India is not long enough that one would starve if one did not eat a meal offered on a flight. It's not the intake of sugar that may put some extra pounds on you, it's the lack of appropriate exercise that's to be blamed.
It's a non issue IMO. Doesn't Jet give you an option of a low carb or low fat meal?
It might be best to do away with meal service in economy completely if people cannot plan their meals or exercise good judgement. :p

There is plenty of scientific evidence that shows free fatty acids, which are present in the blood in higher levels in the obese (especially those with central, abdominal obesity), cause resistance of cells to insulin (type 2 diabetes).

I am not going to argue about this issue here. It suffices to say that it's not so simple, and that you are confusing statistical correlation with scientific proof. Presence of two conditions does not lead to cause and effect.

I'll piggyback onto this thread since I don't want to start a new one...
I'll be flying 9W in a couple weeks - LHR-BOM - Premiere class using United miles. I've preselected seat 9K (777 herringbone formation) back when I booked (which was many moons ago) but am not sure if that will be honored. I'll be flying in on UA that morning from IAD and will have about an 11 hour layover at the Skyteam Lounge in T4.
Any input on what to expect in-flight or with regards the Skyteam Lounge? 11 hours is a lot of time to spend at an airport.
Last time I flew 9W was back in 2007 and was op-uped back then on their 737 BOM-BKK night service. Frankly, I don't remember much of that journey.

Jet and their inability to understand technology (let alone use it) is legendary. Even more tragic in the fabled land of IT professionals, the same ones who the world depends on to get their systems running smoothly and efficiently.
Here's another very recent example:
My mother went to Ahmedabad on Friday afternoon. I had booked her on the 321, departing Bombay at 13:55.
Early Wednesday morning, I get an email from Jet saying the flight has been rescheduled and will depart at 14:45
- pretty good of them, to send out a notification well in advance when they already knew from beforehand
- But what on earth does status "HK" mean?
Thursday afternoon at around 16:00, I OLCI'd
- Hallelujah! it worked!
- Bizarrely, but not surprisingly, the boarding pass still said departure at 13:55
Thursday evening at 19:00 I get an email saying I can OLCI for the flight
- no connection to either of the two departure times; typical random email well after OLCI was already done
Thursday night at 21:22 I get another email, saying the exact same thing as at 19:00
- wow
Flight finally ended up leaving at 15:15

Had a similar experience as well. Had a reward booking (IXM-MAA) scheduled to depart at 2010.

It has very little to do with my opinion of Air India. Rather, because the airline serves no meaningful purpose and is an increasingly disgraceful waste of hard-earned taxpayer money (that ought to be criminal) that the exchequer of our desperately impoverished country cannot afford. That's why.
But this is a Jet topic, so let's stick to Jet here.

I was looking at fares to return to London. As usual, one way fares ex-india are high so i found a work around.
Ex-Colombo, I am getting £800 for jet ( CMB to BOM 737 connecting with 77w to London) in premiere.
Or CMB to Kul to lhr using MH 737/380 combo for £1000.
What would you do? Go with Jet or MH. MH dies mean I can bank Aa miles and wife can bank BA miles. It is £400 dearer though.

Does anyone know how to escalate a complain/issue with Jet Airways. I wrote to them in first week of Feb and in 3 weeks I have only received 3 automated emails saying they will respond soon. There is only so much patience one can show..

Well the only way is for you to sit outside their corporate headquarters, take Keyser with you so he has drafted some good legal "dhamki" and deliver in hand to Laalaji :-)

anyone working on the - Idiot's guide to travelling(or not) with Jet Airways..!! plz send me first draft...
btw- I just wrote an email to their VP for Sales and VP for Public relations about their amazing customer service.. It might be another effort in vain, but it gave me a sense of satisfaction to do that.. just took some of my frustration out and now I can get back to work..
Oh am now seriously considering cancelling my and my wife's US - India trip on Jet.. Loyalty has it's limits..

Jet and their inability to understand technology (let alone use it) is legendary. Even more tragic in the fabled land of IT professionals, the same ones who the world depends on to get their systems running smoothly and efficiently.
Truly amazing. Just flew SpiceJet as well and they seem to be clueless from an IT perspective. Got bombarded with text messages about being rebooked despite never being on the flight that they cancelled.
Had good experiences with 9W's international product. Was pleased with the Premiere service and cabin.

Had the most unbelievable experience with Jet Airways today.. I had booked an cancelled a ticket with them in December.. approx 80k INR.. Did not get any refund for a few weeks.. followed it up with them umpteen number to times only to be told that instead of refunding to the credit card, they have given it to the travel agent..
contacted the travel agent and kept going in circles, as the travel agent insisted they haven't got the refund.. finally the travel agent sent a stinker to Jet and then got a response from Jet saying they will now refund the money to my credit card.. after 3 months of running from pillar to post..!!!

if it was booked with a travel agent, the amount was supposed to go to the TA, only if booked directly via jetairways.com or their booking office, you'd have got a direct refund on the CC

It was booked through a travel agent but using my CC.. the travel agent did not pay directly.. All other times when there have been any changes to the ticket, Jet has always charged or refunded to the credit card and not the travel aent..
this is the first time they insisted that they have refunded to the travel agent and not the credit card, only to admit 3 months later that they haven't refunded anything at all and will now process it to the credit card..
