Recently I just booked tickets from SEA to HAN round trip, transit in ICN, at Vayama.com. As I have relatives and friends in Seoul, I want to extend my stopover in Seoul for a week when I fly from Seattle to Hanoi. I called Asiana and they told me to contact Vayama for changing tickets. I contacted Vayama and the exchange quote they gave me was nearly over $1000 to change my flight from ICN to HAN, which is ridiculous! Is there anyway I can extend my stopover without paying a ridiculously fee even higher than my original ticket ???? Have anyone experienced this problem??? Thank you and I appreciate your help so much.

Sorry, but your ticket is obviously a non refundable, non changeable one. The benefit of this is that they are very cheap, the downside, as you've found out, is that they cannot be changed, or if they can, are prohibitively expensive.

I'm guessing that the fee is higher than your original ticket because they are effectively cancelling your first ticket and giving you a new one.

Did you look at the fare rules when you bought the ticket? I've never used Vayama but most of the sites like Expedia/Opodo etc have a link that shows you the rules.

Vayama's fees are significantly higher than other on-line travel agents. Even booking a ticket incurs a significant "service charge" which doesn't exist with Expedia, etc.
