Jet Blue put them on another flight....and/or possibly on a different carrier?
Who knows whether the hyperactive/uncontrollable child wouldn't exhibit the same behavior on any later flight?
My sympathies are probably more with the kidlet than with anyone else, though from the little description I've read, I definitely think the proper course was followed.:rolleyes:

Actually, that was the last flight home they could take that day. The family had to stay overnight in a hotel at their own expense, and fly home the following day.

Seems like they were just transferring the issue/problem to another flight. What's the chance that the child does exactly the same again? I've seen kids having hissy-fits on flights and they've never been removed.

Where is Steven Slater when you need him? He could have just opened the door, popped the slide and...

if the mother is Colette S Vieau, MD - Pediatrics, i presume she will have no trouble in changing the kid's meds and sedate her for the next go round. you know, woopsie, not the blue pills, the orange pills.

i was once on a flight from hawaii to dallas when the guy behind me went bonkers because i tipped my seat back. all the way back. he grabbed the seat and started shaking it and screaming incoherently. he did not threaten me or touch me, but he was completely out of control in tantrum mode. staff, including a couple of people from the cockpit came out, cuffed the guy, then locked him in a closet.

In the comments in the Daily News one commenter said that he longed for the "old days" when a flight attendant knew her place!

wally, maybe you don read so good. the gestapo (which i have never seen before or since) came out, cuffed the guy and put him in a closet he did not resist?? was strange. i left my seat back alllllllll the way down, , and continued drinking my ties, or whatever, while this guy was stored in a closet. that is my space, wally. if you want it, you buy it. want to visit the closet, sure that can be arranged.

back to subject matter. i am unstably intolerent of "special" children..i will do anything i can for children in need. those include the rescued adoptions from eastern europe, and the sick kids coming to usa(dc in particular) for medical assistance. we(me and wife) once gave up c seats to move to y for a "bubble" child. have held a number of stinking shitting russian orphan rescues for mommy. those kids need help.
