Hello all,
Now the all LX flights to LUG from ZRH and GVA have been taken over by Darwin Airline for LX, what is the M&M mileage situation for connecting flights to LUG from LX Mainline ? Does the regular rate of 1500 miles in Business Class for domestic flights within Switzerland still apply ?
Thank you in advance.

Yes, it's just a Wetlease of an Aircraft the appropriate size (ie 50 Seater Tuboprop) for the market. To all extentents and purposes, it's an LX operated Flight.

No, it's not that simple ;)
The flights LUG-ZRH operated by Darwin (LX29xx numbers) are wetlease flights on behalf of LX. This means = pure LX-flights concerning mileage.
The flights LUG-GVA operated by Darwin (LX47xx numbers) are codeshare flights: These are pure Darwin(F7)-flights, and LX is just a "marketing carrier" and sells a number of seats. As M&M does (not yet?) have an agreement with F7 concerning Miles&More, NO miles can be collected on this route.

This is very correct, theoretically.
But if you do a dummy booking on LX.com for GVA-LUG (I tried 7th of June outbound,12th of June return as test dates) on the flight selection screen the overview shows miles are earned (no mention of status or award only though).
And the same is applicable (as per above dates) to the other new routes announced thursday by LX.

Press release here (http://www.swiss.com/web/EN/about_swiss/media/press_releases/Pages/pr_20120308.aspx) which does not clarify any miles earning.
Perhaps we'll see a formal communication soon on the subject. Or we can always ask our official LX representatives.

Swiss.com does obviously not differentiate between "codeshare" and "wetlease", so the customer has to do it...
Actually, M&M.com states following:
*On selected LX code share flights within the ranges LX4220-LX4239, LX4270-LX4279, LX4600-LX4639 und LX8000-LX8499 you are earning award miles only. Status miles, HON Circle miles and Executive Bonus are not being granted on these flights.

This are the flights operated by ElAl, Ukraine International, Edelweiss and even Air France, but not OLT (ZRH-BRE/DRS) and Helvetic. As the Darwin-flights are all within the range of LX47xx-numbers, no miles will be credited at this moment.

As the LX exclusion note does not mention flights LX 2xxx (as those between ZRH and LUG), I would expect them to be fully credited, status and all. Correct ?

All flights with numbers below LX3000 are pure LX-flights, independent of the colour of the aircraft.

The miles shown there don't mean anything. :td:
I have had another case in which during my booking on the LX site the miles earned were clearly shown, but in the end I got nothing. (ZRK-BKK on LX ticket, operated by TG.)

Hi Koby,
In which fare bucket it was? A few years ago I booked the same segment/carrier through the Swiss web and the miles got credited in my M&M account. What I did not get was the 25% bonus.

The ticket was booked on an "Economy fare" (not "Economy Saver") which clearly stated during the booking process that 100% miles would be earned. This resulted in an E-ticket in fare basis "V". Back then I posted about this on FT, and "V" on TG will give you indeed 0 miles.
Just saying that a dummy booking will not give you all the information. :td:

Dear FT'ers
A fellow member has asked me to comment on the Darwin Airlines codeshare / mileage topic.
All ZRH-LUG flights are wetleased flights, where Darwin operates aircraft on our behalf. On this - and only this - route, miles are earned as on any regular SWISS flight (i.e. award, status and HON Circle miles).
For all other Darwin Airlines (F7) flights with a SWISS codeshare (with LX47XX flight numbers), no mileage earning agreement is currently in place, therefore no miles can be earned on these flights.
You can always find up to date lists of exceptions and flight number ranges on www.miles-and-more.ch
Kind regards,
Gianrico

Is the C service on Darwin like the service to GVA?
