In Buenos Aires for the next 20~ days. Any tips on companies that rent mifi/mobile internet devices and service?
For my cel I just picked up a pre-paid sim, but the pre-paid data plans dont look that great.
I see a few via google:
rentacell.com.ar
phonerental.com.ar
Feedback and experiences appreciated.
Thanks,
Ilan

So far I've found that rentacell.com.ar doesn't return calls or e-mails. Its been 2.5 weeks since I originally contacted them.
phonerental.com.ar seems to have reasonable pricing, but their usage caps are pretty low and there isn't a way to just pay more when you exceed them. That might just be movistar though, the carrier they work with.
Trip is coming to an end soon so at this point, it probably doesn't make sense to keep trying.
If you do find anything, feel free to update the thread though. It might be helpful for future travelers.
I think your best bet is a pay as you go USB modem...Claro do them as far as I know. Maybe you can use the sim in your phone?
Rentals I imagine will be prohibitively expensive.
What about free wifi? Is this common in BA at cafes etc? My hotel will have it, but it may be good to check stuff while on the go.

Who do you recommend for a pre-paid SIM for my unlocked phone? Not very concerned with how many minutes/texts I get, but I do want data for my smartphone.
