Greetings FlyerTalkers!
Expected to open in 2017, Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport will feature 250 guestrooms, including 17 suites, and several food and beverage outlets, a fitness center, and more than 3,210 sq m (34,000 sq ft) of meeting and conference facilities and pre-function space.

2017? Wow.
It takes 5 years to build? Can one really plan on a hotel being active 5 years from now?

Great news!:-: Looks like this may be part of the same development as:

I wonder about five years time horizon too. A lot can happen in the real estate market and some long term projects never get built or re-flagged before opening.

This is Europe. Yes it takes that long to build a property...
But then again, if this was asia, it'll be ready next month ! :p

There`s a video on YouTube of a 15-story hotel in China being built in 6 days.
The 102-story Empire State Building was built in 1 year and 45 days.

There`s a video on YouTube of a 15-story hotel in China being built in 6 days. . . . and if you want to see what will happen when the next earthquake hits the region, play it accelerated and in reverse ;). I'm happy to wait for Swiss-quality construction, thank you.
It could be that the Hyatt ZRH project is part of a larger development that will take so long (for example as the 4 points Zurich Sihl City is part of a larger complex).
