Hi All-

I will be going to Sao Paulo for a business trip, and me and my team of 5 (6 total) are looking at options to get from GRU to our city hotel.

I have never been to Brazil before and my company has never arranged travel here either, so I am looking for advice.

Can anyone recommend a nice shuttle bus service that can get us comfortably and safely from GRU to the city center and back? My understanding is it can take a few hours, especially in the morning which is when we are arriving.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

A few hours to get to the centre is a bit pessimistic IMHO - 2 max for me. Various hotels offer shuttle buses - talk to yours. Or else get a couple of regulated taxis -GUARUCOOP booths are located right outside the arrivals area.

I'm aware of several hotels in the city of Guarulhos, where the airport is located, that offer shuttles from the airports, but not any in the city of SP that would. The distance is large. There are busses from the airport to SP's center. If you are staying in SP, I'd contact your hotel and ask about options.

What time do you arrive? If it's on an international flight, you need to allow at least 1-2 hours to get through Immigration and Customs. You may not leave the airport until after the worst of rush hour. There is an info desk on the main level of the airport with info on transportation to SP and elsewhere.

We arrive at 9:25 am, so we may indeed miss the worst of the rush hour.

I guess I will contact my hotel and ask, was hoping there was some first-hand experience here with this issue, but so far there is not.

Thanks for the responses so far.

Sorry, but if you want first-hand experience with this issue you need to be more specific - you and your hotel know where you are staying in one of the largest cities in the world, none of us do.

I think you'll change your mind about that once there. ;) The entire day is rush hour! I've never seen traffic like it.
