Can anyone help me?
I want to go to Eurocup in kiev in june 2012.
I need a visa for Honduran citizen.
I need an invitation letter http://www.mfa.gov.ua/data/upload/publication/usa/en/58340/zaprowennya.pdf
It has been very difficult for me to get any help from any hotel or touroperator in Ukraine. I have been trying for weeks!
When I went to russia, the hilton in moscow filled this in for me, I did it through email, it took me less than 5 days, free!
Thanks!

ORD-TGU, hope for the best but expect the worst in UKR. Rather, prepare for the worst. The stadiums look great and the roads are paved, but their people power are still a mess. Many reports of hyper inflated prices for food, hotels and random gouging of tourists in anticipation of the games.

I am sorry to hear that, multiple negative reports , to the extent they want to cancel the games, i do see hotels at +$500 a night, but I will still go to check it out.

The stadiums are great and the airports have come a long way. You'll have a great time. Gouging goes on everywhere when there's a big event. It just feels egregious in UKR. I do not think any games will be cancelled. There is a lot o politcal talk involving the jailing of the former Prime Minister, but they are all criminals. I think that the games will go on. Just try to be calm and sober around the police, and have a great time!

Also, google "Euro fans face 'criminal' police" for today's article from CNN. Games will be great, but steer clear of the cops!

This is not a very promising article, and the comments left by readers is even worse. I am now a bit concerned :(

Don't worry about the "boycott" as it is all political BS (I know, I know). Most of the comments are true BUT Ukrainians are good people, Kiev is a cool city (assuming that is where you will be) and the games should go well. Just keep your Ps and Qs about you--enjoy the experience and remember that Ukraine is kind of like Wonderland--and you are like Alice. It's a circus.

Two friends of mine are well-connected soccer fans who have been to every World Cup and Euro final since 1982. They'll be following England in the Ukraine and reckon this is the most expensive, difficult trip they've planned (even worse than Japan/Korea). I think they mentioned price gouging in between the swearing. ;)
Good luck but I'm not sure I'd bother if my team wasn't there!

OP, did you go to the games? How were they and how was your experience in Ukraine? I avoided the final. Sort of bummed as I had tickets, but work has been insane and I could not take the crowds. Headed back there now. Would be interesting to hear how your trip went.
