Hello im stephen,we have been travelling to asia with Qatar for the last 6years I tried in Janaury to reclaim my air miles but to no avail, but was determined to get on board and claim any future ones, In Feb we flew to Thailand and back for which I got 80 points they said I could claim my partners ( she fly's on every ticket i book)on my return, now that we are home there now saying I never included her on the appliction I cant claim the points.
I want the points so I can climb to silver status and save on airport lounges £25 each overnight we paid in Doha.
Can anyone offer any advice thankyou, Stephen

Welcome to FlyerTalk!

I can't be 100% sure about Qatar Airways, but with nearly all other frequent flyer programs, you cannot credit one person's account with a different person's earning activity.

They may have given you incorrect information. Maybe someone with first-hand Qatar knowledge can verify.

Believe he is talking about the Family Programme which pools miles like BA?
I fly Qatar, but am not in their program.

"Get the most out of your Privilege Club membership when you share it with family.

Our Family Programme allows Burgundy, Silver and Gold members to add their spouse and children older than two years to their Privilege Club membership. The higher your membership level, the more Qmiles your family members will earn.

Each family member will receive their own membership card. They can then start earning Qmiles whenever they fly with Qatar Airways or use any of our airline, hotel, car rental, or travel partners.

To nominate a family member, log into your membership account, select "Family Programme", fill the form under the "Add a new relation to my family account" section and click "Add member" to submit. Alternatively, you can visit any of Qatar Airways ticketing offices and fill the form.

Once added, family members cannot be replaced on your membership for 24 months. However, family members more than 18 years old can disconnect from the family programme. The Qmiles earned prior to disconnecting will remain in the family account."

i use the QR PC family scheme , you only receive the miles flown not the tier points for membership, when you register each family member has there own unique membership number , i know for sure that the tier points are not added to your account , but I am not sure if they are added to each unique member

Just to confirm on what everyone has said...

You can claim Qmiles but not Qpoints and you need this to gain access to the lounges so you just need to fly more :D
