Anyone know anything about this little town? It's located in the region of Campania and the province of Salerno.

My mother in law grew up here, leaving for America when she was 15yo. DH and I would like to take her back there soon. The problem is that it's such a small town in the Southern region that I'm having trouble finding any information about rail service, hotels, etc.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

With a very quich research:

The website of the MSG municipality (http://www.comune.montesangiacomo.sa.it/) lists 3 accomodation options:

Nonna Iuccia, in Monte San Giacomo, a sort of B&B
http://www.nonnaiuccia.com/home.php

Terre Sane, a country house, in Monte San Giacomo (outskirts)
http://www.terresane.eu/

Park Hotel MontPellier, that looks like a hotel for weddings and similar ventures
http://www.hotelmontpellier.it
Not actually in Monte San Giacomo, but in Sassano.

No rails, but the motorway A3 is quite close. The motorway exit is also one of the main 'towns' in the area: Sala Consilina. Its municipality website lists some accomodations: http://www.comune.sala-consilina.salerno.it/in-citta/dove-dormire/

Honestly, I believe you can only find B&Bs, small hotels mainly dedicated to family events and some country houses.
