Perhaps the OP northernstar84 is the southern hemisphere? (I don't actually know of "northern" star -- just "north" star -- so the phrase makes me think of the phrase "southern star", which is in the southern hemisphere.)

And, yes, btw, WyndhamRewards has properties in, for example, many medium-sized cities in Argentina where often no other hotel points program has a property.

OH, checked the website. Free movie tickets for 2, after 2 stays. $24 value. Hmmmmmmm, underwhelmed.
But, double points, too. That helps quite a bit, actually. I take it back. Not bad!

Question for the EU Promotion:

If I set my profil for the first stay on AIRMILES and on the second stay on POINTS will I get the 10`000 Points bonus after the second stay?
As reading the T&C it should be possible but I like to get it confirmed.
Thanks

It's only "not bad" for me because it's got a double miles option with Southwest. Southwest normal earning option is worth about $10 (if redeemed at WannaGetAway fares), so double Southwest is worth about $20.

Double points on 2 stays would never amount to 10,000 points for me, so in that sense this is way worse than the European version (where that's exactly what you earn).

If it weren't for the double miles option (and the Southwest "flat" earning option), I wouldn't see the value of this promo (in the US version) at all (for those whose stays are "naturally" one-night stays in cheap suburban properties, given that normal points are proportional to spend, and thus even when doubled are low at low-cost properties).

Hello WR and WR2,

I see that this spring promo doesn't explicitly specify the requirement of having your earning preference set to points or miles, rather it just states:

Bonus currency will be awarded in the form of Wyndham Rewards points only, and excludes the option of for example, airmiles.

Can I interpret this as even if I had my earning preference set to air miles, i will still receive the promo bonus points in addition to standard miles per stay?

In previous promos as far as I recall, it clearly states that members electing to earn miles for their stays would still earn the bonus points in addition.

Would highly appreciate some clarification on this!

Thanks!

I presume you guys are asking about the European version? Please clarify whenever asking a question about a promo that has multiple versions which version you're asking about.

The doubling itself certainly is done in your preferred currency. I had miles chosen for my earning preference, and my first stay posted with 600 base "miles" (actually Southwest RR 2.0 points) and then another 600 as the "double points or miles bonus", under the miles column.

Date Description Points Miles
4/4/12 ANAHEIM [none] 600
4/4/12 Double Points or Miles [none] 600
The US version earns movie tickets, in addition the double. I seem to recall the European version does not earn movie tickets directly, but extra points instead? Presumably these are the points you're referring to?

yes, i am referring to the non-US version of the promo. It is not limited to European members only this time, so technically, we should not refer to it as the EU version as we did previously.

Hi,
I'm hoping you can help to clarify for me...
Is this question for the promotion in the US? If so, you earn points or miles depending on what your earning preference is at the time of your stay. Here are the terms from our US offer:
https://www.wyndhamrewards.com/trec/consumer/promoReg.action?promoRuleCode=S12MARVEL&variant=

If this is for our international offer, airline miles are excluded, it's only points. So, yes, you will receive the bonus as points. You can always redeem those points for miles if you'd like. Here is an example of the Terms from our UK offer: https://www.wyndhamrewards.com/trec/consumer/promoReg.action?promoRuleCode=S12MARVEL&variant=uk

This must be wrong? I see no requirement to have your acct set up to earn points to get this bonus. I will assume that this bonus is in addition to your preference of miles or points- which has been the case during previous promos.

Hi, thanks for your prompt attention to the question.

I am inquiring on the international offer indeed.

And I understand that the bonus is only available in the currency of points (10,000 WR points), but my question is regarding the standard earning for hotel stays, i.e. 500 miles per stay in certain frequent flyer programmes.

So if i set my earning preference to miles for all stays, will i still receive the 10,000 bonus points after every 2nd stay for up to 3 bonuses in addition to the standard mileage earning?

Wyndham Rewards 2

That is correct, you will receive your airline miles for your hotel stays and after two stays get a bonus of 10,000 points.

Also to clarify, there is a limit of 2 bonuses.

Gosh, not only are IMHO 10000 points worth much more than a couple movie tickets, but WR lets international people earn a bonus on 6 stays (3 10k bonuses times 2 stays each) but US people max out after 4 stays (2 movie ticket bonuses times 2 stays each)? Why such a discrepancy? (And obviously it also causes confusion!)

Well, can you please tell us where you've seen this? That would help!

One possible guess: The main promo (for USA) is:

For every 2 stays (up to 2) you get double (ie 2x) points or miles, plus you get 2 movie passes (or is it one movie pass for 2 people?).

“Participating Hotels” are Ramada®, Days Inn®, Baymont Inn & Suites®, Hawthorn Suites®, Howard Johnson®, Dream®, Night®, Knights Inn®, Microtel®, Travelodge® (U.S. hotels only), Wingate® by Wyndham branded hotels and Super8 – however Super8 China does not participate in this promotion. Wyndham Hotels and Resorts® properties located in Europe, North America, Latin America, the Caribbean and China also participate in this promotion.

I would read it as the 'properties located in Europe, North America, Latin America, the Caribbean and China also participate in this promotion' restriction only applies to Wyndham Hotels and Resorts properties.

All other brands should be included worldwide, except for Super 8 in China.

Hence, the properties in the Phillipines should perhaps indeed qualify. Can WR rep clarify further?

Also, with regards to the maximum number of bonuses that can be earned under this promotion (Non-US version), it is 3 times 10,000 points right? not just 2 bonuses as some mentioned earlier.

This is great. I have been loyal to another hotel group but the new Ramada and Microtel in Manila is a great option with their competetive rates ( <$100) and great location. If you live in US, Canada or Mexico the spring promotion is after your second and forth qualifying stay you get 2 movie tickets. If you book your reservations online on the brand website or on wyndhamrewards.com you can also earn double points or miles.

The promotion for earning 10000 points after every 2 stays up to 30000 points is the spring promotion for members who live outside US, Canada or Mexico. Hope this helps.

I hope someone here can help - perhaps the Wyndham Rewards spokesperson. Just had my first spring bonus stay post to my Wyndham Rewards account. Everything looked fine:
600 miles posted with the date and location AND
600 miles posted as "double points or miles".
However, when I look at my RR account all I see is 600 miles posted as
"Wyndham Hotel Group". The other 600 miles do not appear anywhere.
What is worse is that the 600 miles that did post do not show up as Companion Pass Qualifying Points, only as regular miles. I know that prior to the spring promotion my 600 miles from Wyndham showed up as CPQPs as recently as March of this year.

Anyone else have this experience with Wyndham Rewards and RR?

What happened to my missing 600 miles and why did the 600 that did post not show as CPQP? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello, it can take 4-6 weeks for the miles to post in your airline account so if your stay was with in the last 6 weeks it is in the process of being posted.

I'm not sure why your miles posted differently, I suggest that you contact Southwest Rapid rewards concerning this.

Thank you

Perhaps it's timing?

I had two stays last week. On the WyndhamRewards site, both posted 600 + 600 WN points. This Monday, WN showed 600 + 600 for the first stay, but only one 600 for the second stay.

I presume therefore that the 600 bonus posts a bit later (hours if not a full day) than the "base" 600 posts. And, in turn, if the stay is late enough in the week, that can make the difference between the "base" 600 making it to WN that week and the bonus 600 taking an extra week. (IIRC, WyndhamRewards sends WN points to WN only once a week, and WN only updates that on Mondays.)

(Sorry, I can't shed light on the CPQP issue because I don't collect CPs, and thus I don't even know how to tell what posted as CPQP and what didn't. That does seem like more of a WN question than a WR question, though.)
