Air New Zealand Air Points - MyerOne?

Is it just me, or is anyone else finding it a little odd how much AirNZ are pushing MyerOne for Australian bookings:

Wouldn't the energy be better spent providing more Airpoints Dollars rather than propping up a competing loyalty programme?

No surprise. They have been promoting all sorts of loyalty schemes but Airpoints. Examples are Velocity on their Aussie site and United Mileage Plus on their Japan site. They can't wait to get rid of Airpoints altogether.
