Any suggestions for a good Turkish Bath house in Istanbul? We have a group of friends going that would enjoy getting out of their comfort zone. Thanks.

Cemberlitas Hamam, close to the Grand Bazaar and Sultanahmet Hamami are good choices.

Cemberlitas Hamam sure does a good job advertising (it's the sponsor for the map I'm using), and based on the pictures at least, it looks good.

BEWARE. Agroup of us went to one of the large famous bath (forgot the name).
It was a total let down and cost upwards of $60. Find one that is smaller and really trustworthy source.

Just got back from Cemberlitas Hamam. It was expensive, 29 Euros for the standard, and 49 Euros for the standard plus 30 minute massage. Service was subpar. Once you're done, everyone and their brother who washed you or massaged you or handed you a towel or said hi to you waits for you by the door and expects a tip.. so bring some Lira coins. I have no basis for comparison, but it was an interesting experience that I would not repeat. I'd find a smaller one that costs less and is more service-focused, like the last poster said.

After reading some less than favorable reviews of the big baths in Istanbul, I opted for the one in my hotel (Doubletree). It was fantastic. I think most if not all of the large hotels have their own bath

in istanbul there are so many cheap Turkish baths, but If you are not an experienced Turkey traveller my guess is that you will feel more comfortable in a touristy Turkish bath regardless of it's price. If you decide to attend a traditional Turkish bath in a non-touristy area which caters to the locals you may feel like a fish out of its bowl.
in historical peninsula it is a bit expensive compare to others but they are very nice athmosphere and historical hamams, i can recommend you to visit those historical hamams. Turkish bath is a must do in istanbul.
Cagaloglu, Cemberlitas, Suleymaniye and Galatasaray.
