Asiana Club - Upgrade Question

Hi Everyone,

I have a quick question. If I have a V class ticket. Is it possible for me to upgrade to Business Class (using United miles)?

I am a newbie so I will have lots of questions, thank you in advance!

Star Alliance Upgrade Awards are available on all participating Star Alliance carriers from fares booked in C, D, Y, and B. (The following carriers offer upgrades off these additional fare classes: ANA - J, Z and E classes; Lufthansa - J class; SAS - S class; Singapore - S, Z and J classes).

Thank you very much, it turns out the fare class isn't V. It is S class.

Can someone explain the booking classes to me?

Booking class or fare class (represented by different letters like Y, J, F, A, B, V, W, K, S, X and so forth) is different level of fares in a certain service class (coach/business/first). Different levels of fare have different restrictions (whether upgradeable or not, refundable or not, eligible for mileage accrual or not and so forth).

A quick search on Google will give you more information for sure, and probably a much detailed explanation.
