I have decided - will ditch Accor Advantage Plus membership which I had regrettably renewed last month!
Firstly my travel pattern has changed and I am staying more and more in SPG properties. However, the straw that broke the camel's back was a point accrual incident.
Stayed in Sofitel Macau in January, but points were not credited into my A Plat account. Upon enquiry got reply from hotel that the points were credited into my A Classic account which I applied before joining AA Plus and had never used! I had forgotten the existence of this account, and didn't know Sofitel Macau was sooo resourceful in retrieving it. I had presented my AA Plus/A Plat card during check-in, but this was inexplicably ignored? And I am so tired of retroclaiming uncredited points from A Club on so many occasions, the exercise is becoming farcical and exhausting.
That's it - cut the knot and be happy, rumors of upcoming Accor supersales notwithstanding!

Hi kenyalang69,
Thanks for getting in touch. I'm sorry to hear that you have been facing dificulty obtaining your A|Club points. I understand that you have a few different cards for the Accor Group, which could lead to some confusion. If you would kindly provide me with both account/card numbers and the dates of your stay, I can have the company check into this matter and see if it is possible to have the points accredited to the correct account.
Many thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards.

I have checked with hotel and informed that I have:
A Classic - created before joining AA Plus, status active
A Silver - which comes together with AA Plus, active
A Gold - previous upgrade from Silver, I thought inactive, but told to be still active
A Plat - previous upgrade from Gold, was active during stay in Sofitel, now inactive
There was no confusion during check in as I presented my merged AA Plus/Plat card during check in.
However, after a few to and fro emails with the hotel, now it appear that I can only bank in the points into the Silver account.
There is no point arguing over it, as I have already decided to ditch AA Plus. Only regret was my spouse joined last month as a member as well, just for the free night. Would have strongly discouraged her had I known this was the outcome!

 And you find it strange that the hotel makes a mistake? Wouldn't it be easier to have just one account, like most people?

I thought one is only allowed one card:
T&Cs:
4.1. MEMBERSHIP CONDITIONS
The Program is open to any person who is legally considered an adult in the country in which he or she has the legal capacity to sign a contract. Minors may not participate in the Program. Companies, associations, groups, Accor employees and Partners are not entitled to join the Program. Membership in the Program is free, and the nominative card is strictly personal. It may not be lent or sold. The card does not constitute a means of payment. Each Card is printed with the Member name, an individual identification number, and the expiration date of the Member’s current status (for Silver, Gold, and Platinum status levels - see section 8 below). Each Member may only possess one A|Club card, whether a Loyalty or subscription card.

I, too, thought I had only one Plat account then, until hotel told me otherwise...

no offense, but i believe you had provided 4 different email address by yourself. Most probably key in by your good-self.
If this 4 different different card are under same email address you must be very lucky.
I assume you might had been with this forum for quite sometime it seems like you missed out the merge AA+ with you A Club status tread
I presume you are carrying 2 card when you check in to the hotel. I believe they did made a mistake where they should credit the points to your AA+ Silver but not your A club classic.
It will be wrong for them to credit the points to your A club platinum as you are enjoying AA+ preferential rates.
Kindly correct me if anything above are incorrect.
p/s: I am AA+ platinum with 1 card. and sorry i read your AA+/A club platinum as 2 cards as you mention your platinum card had become inactive. if this is the case you wont be able to access AA+ as the number are the same.

Wrong - I was only carrying one single merged AA Plus/Plat card at check in, which was photocopied by front desk staff. This was in January this year.
How did they get access the Classic card which was created years ago, and forgotten by me when I joined AA Plus (thus receive A Silver, subsequent Gold, and Plat), I am not sure. The Plat was downgraded to Silver when I renewed AA Plus in February this year, so now they can't bank it into the defunct Plat...

While the T&C's do say that, it is my experience that accounts can be created behind the scenes for you. I have had points credit to an account that I did not know even existed before.

Every time you change membership levels with A|Club they give you another number so I can understand this issue - I have had the same thing happen and I get sick and tired of claiming points after stays - they rarely get it right even when you are booking with the correct number and presenting your card on checkin.
I'm just as frustrated.

I'm frustrated with Accor Advantage Plus dining benefits. Why do some hotels charge the service charge before the discount? For example, when 2 people dine and spend 100USD, the service charge at 10% would be 10USD but with a discount of 50%, the service of 5USD would be added by most hotels in the programme (I'd say 90% of more in my experience). In most hotels, the bill would be 55USD but in some, they'd charge 60USD. It irritates me when the minority of hotels charge the service charge in this way. There is nothing in the terms and conditions about this so why don't Accor clarify what the policy should be?
I'd have enough of the inconsistency and will not be renewing my AA+ card until the issue is clarified. When I contacted them last time it happened it took a while for them to understand the issue.
Perhaps Chris, our Accor Concierge, can look into this?

Hi yorkboy24,
I'm sorry to hear that you're displeased with Accor Advantage Plus dining benefits.
I've checked the Terms and Conditions for the programme and couldn't find out why some of our hotels charged you the full rate and others the discounted rate. I'll transfer your complaint to the Le Club customer care so they can have a further look into the matter.
Many thanks,
Chris

It looks like, when you are at status A, you get one account number, when you upgrade or downgrade to another status B, you get another account number. And supposedly your previous account should be closed and your points and transaction history will carry forward to the new account, but sometimes this doesn't happen properly?
This sounds like ridiculous software system design. Why not just use one account and whenever needed just change the "status" field?

I have decided - will ditch Accor Advantage Plus membership which I had regrettably renewed last month!
I already ditched my Accor Advantage Plus last month after using it for several years, due to the pain and agony Le Club have given me with regards to points not posting, no customer service, rubbish program etc.
As an Advantage Plus Platinum member, I DID NOT receive any welcome gift or drink coupon etc even though I mostly stayed in Sofitel and Pullman. Even when I booked Suites and Club Floor Room, I don't receive anything. It is not that I am so hard up for their gift or anything. To me, it is more like a kind of appreciation for our business and recognition.
Le Club is an international joke.:td:
But the folks at Advantage Plus are more responsive and helpful. Whenever I had any issues with Le Club, the team at Adv Plus will resolve them promptly. ^:)

Yes, fully agreed. Le Club is the most disgraceful program run by people who have no sense of responsibility and ownership. The team in charge should be sacked for sleeping on their job.
I have been their loyal customer since A Club's inception and all I have been hearing is that, they are still trying to get things right and still new to all this loyalty program. They are only good in giving rubbish excuses instead of spending more time and real effort to do it right just like other good programs.

This is nothing new. I had also experienced similar incidents several times. There is no clear and consistent rules for Le Club hotels. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing.

I had an interesting, but unfortunate, experience with Advantage Plus. Through Amex, I was offered an upgrade to platinum membership of Le Club, so I applied. Discovered that the offer apparently didn't apply to paid memberships....
Think I'll not renew the Advantage Plus membership next renewal.....

Fully Agree ^ Accor Advantage Plus Indonesia always very helpful whenever I had problem with Le Club. I realized that the problems would need some time, let's say couple of days or sometimes weeks (presumably caused by Le Club :p) but Accor Advantage Plus Indonesia team always reply me within the same day up to 2 working days :D If I make a phone call to the Advantage Plus member services, they are always polite and remembering my name! That's what I called services ^^^

A harsh synopsis of Le Club Accor by happygolucky_nomad
- but all too true and I suspect many others have similar stories to tell.
This loyalty programme needs a root and branch reform as it is quite clearly dysfunctional and is certainly alienating many of its loyal members.

Accorhotels really needs to look into their loyalty program and services provided by the individual hotels as well.
It's really getting bad press from it's loyal members....
