China - 70 mi transit time YVR-PEK-KUL

I have a 70 min transit time in PEK airport, to connect from an Air Canada flight from YVR-PEK, to an Air China flight from PEK-KUL. I presume (although I don't know yet) that my bags would be checked thru, and that I would only have to go thru international transit desk and security.

I've read the posts - this timing seems awfully close to me :eek:. It is a valid connection time as far as ticketing goes, but those of you who transit through PEK regularly, please comment as to whether this is reasonable?

I think 70 minutes is short of the minimum (so illegal), but that is enough time as long as your inbound flight is on time. Furthermore, since both of your flights are on the same ticket, in the event of a misconnect, you'll be protected on a later flight.

Seems a little tight - but if the incoming flight is not delayed too much this will be fine (the actual "transfer" time through transit immigration/customs/security is pretty quick at T3).

See the other threads in this forum for instructions on finding the transit immigration booths (basically at one of the booths separated from the main bank of immigration desks on either the far left or far right side - typically only one of these will be open though).

According to KVS your connection time is just okay (surprisingly the default for I-I at T3 is just 60 minutes) - I assume here you will be on CA 971 to KUL.
