Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus - Need Better Training

I am flying in F LHR-BKK. I called TG to ask which lounge in LHR was used for F pax. It took close to 30 minutes and 3 agents to NOT answer my question. One agent said to use the Thai Lounge in LHR, which not exist. All three said to use the Star Alliance Lounge. I said that was in Terminal 1 and TG flew out of Terminal 3. They said that was all correct. I then asked them if TG provided transportation between the two terminals, one said yes. NOT! All of them put me on hold for quite some time to look up the information. They all kept insisting to use the Star Alliance Lounge in Terminal 3. I asked to speak to a supervisor. None would pass me on.
I said to the last one, "would we use the Singapore First Lounge in Terminal 3". She thought that was a good idea.
Do they not have lounge information at hand? It was ridiculous for even one to say TG provided transportation between Terminal 1 and 3 for the lounge.
This is the "lack" of information they have for a First Class pax, I cannot imagine how others are treated.
I do presume it is the SQ First Lounge? Do they allow TG First pax in?
Do they allow TG First pax in?
Yes. If you're departing in First on any *A carrier, your entitled to use any *A First lounge.

Their website says the lounge to use is the SAS one. But that is a business class lounge only.

I know that LH will not allow you in their First Lounges even if you are flying F on another *A partner even in other Star F. I am not sure if LX also follows the LH restrictions.

Sounds to me like you had most of the information already and just wanted to cause an argument.
Were you looking for a lounge other than the SQ lounge?

Not whit standing your conclusion, Thai personnel did drop the ball in the training department.
No excuse for that.

Overlooking your sarcasam, I knew that SAS and SQ had lounges in that terminal, and only went through those lists with the ill trained agents. It is called process of elimination.
Perhaps you have 30 minutes to listen to 3 agents not knowing their job.
why didnt you just look at the Thair website
it lists all the worldwide lounges and is up to date and concise
would have thought such a knowledgable first class kinda guy would know you could access any f class star alliance lounge at heathrow with a first class ticket, or maybee you need training :)

I would have had 2 minutes to start a thread in order to inquire from people who have used the lounges.

In practice, I think the T3 London Lounge (run by SAS) is your best option, despite being a business lounge, is your best option. It's much better than the T3 SQ lounge. Upstairs is generally quieter.

Except in JNB where SA staff are appalling and only with some insisting (print out the rules) at the SQ lounge in SYD :D .
LX / LH / OS clearly state restrictions at their homeports where the designated F lounges are the Senator lounges.

A little change to hgp's wording would produce the following:
'If you're departing in First on any *A carrier, your [sic] entitled to use any *A First branded lounge'
which would also fit behuman's very correct observations. LX/LH/OS don't label their lounges as *A First so that's their out, the same way SQ in SIN and TG in BKK have lounges that aren't *G but only for C pax.
As for the SQ lounge in SYD I've never tried to get in since the Koru lounge is pretty good.

not quite sure what the issue is... the TG website lists the SAS lounge. And you know you have access to the SQ F lounge.
Once you got to the airport they would have issued you with instructions on which lounge you could use anyway.
Of course they're not going to transport you between T1 and T3 :)
I would recommend the SQ F lounge as it is a dedicated F lounge, so more quiet.
Frustrating perhaps that the res agent doesn't know the exact names of the lounges, but may have interpreted as you asking if you had lounge access at all. The response, the star alliance lounge (which is the SAS one) is not too bad.
