The latest promotion with the RBC Westjet mastercard is a $99 companion fare and $100 Westjet dollars. Apply before April 30,2012
http://www.rbcroyalbank.com/credit-cards/travel-credit-cards/westjet-world-mastercard.html
The companion fare based on the T&C is valid for flights within Canada and the U.S.
I hope that in the future that the companion fare will be a regular benefit and not just for sign-ups.

The T's & C's read:
1) Please allow 4-6 weeks after the first purchase transaction date for the welcome bonus of $100 WestJet dollars to appear on your credit card statement and for the $99 companion flight voucher to appear on your WestJet account, accessible at www.mywestjet.com (opens external website in new window). The first purchase must be made before June 15, 2012 for you to be eligible to receive the $99 companion flight voucher. Round-trip base fare of the companion guest will be $99 and may only be used if the companion is travelling with you on the same itinerary. Applicable taxes and fees on the companion ticket are the responsibility of the traveller and must be paid at time of booking. The companion flight voucher is valid for travel anytime on all published fares anywhere in Canada and the continental U.S. (excluding Hawaii and Puerto Rico) on WestJet-operated flights with no travel restrictions or blackout periods. The companion flight voucher is valid for new bookings only made through WestJet's Super Sales Centre within one year of issuance, cannot be applied to existing reservations or on new reservations made on www.westjet.com (opens external website in new window) and is not valid on group bookings and WestJet Vacations bookings. Your ticket and your companion's ticket must be booked at the same time and prior to the companion flight voucher expiry date. The $99 companion flight voucher may only be used as described, has no monetary or exchange value and is only available to the primary cardholder on a new WestJet RBC World MasterCard account. Additional cardholders, as well as existing WestJet RBC World MasterCard and WestJet RBC MasterCard cardholders, are not eligible for the companion flight voucher or welcome bonus offer. This offer may not be combined or used in conjunction with any other offer. WestJet reserves the right to withdraw this offer at any time.

Is there a deadline for buying the voucher, and then is there a deadline for using that voucher?
(I have no doubt I will use the voucher eventually, but I want to stretch out the time it's available, so I can get maximum value.)

Curious to churn this card too
Especially if I can get companion fare to $$ destinations (from YYZ)
e.g. LAX, YVR, or even Hawaii
Does this apply on codeshare AA flights?

Just applied for this. Kudos to the OP for the heads-up ^
Any idea how long it takes to receive the card (and for the Westjet Rewards account to be set up)? Got a couple of flights I am planning to book pretty soon, and would like to use the new card for these...

What has been the time-line for people to get the companion code in their account? The T&C says 4-6 weeks. Does it really take that long? The Alaska airline companion code gets posted in your account as soon as you get your card.
BTW. The credit card offer has been extended to Sept. 15, 2012

Is this new? So you get at least 200 dollars worth with a signup. Cool.

It appears the promotion has reappeared with a $250 credit and the $99 companion ticket. Was planning on taking the go to Hawaii next year. This promotion essentially means I can get one ticket absolutely free, even on lowest fares (T&Cs state ANY fare). Curious if anyone signed up for this card earlier this year and used the companion credit....? If so, I might just use this one...

No you can not get a free ticket to Hawaii and back. The companion ticket offer excludes Hawaii, Puerto Rico and anything that is not US or Canada. It doesn't work on one ways and the first ticket must be full price, i.e. no discount codes (which are part of most WestJet sales).
We've discussed in this forum that the annual fee has gone up, the interest rates have gone up (and maybe the fees merchants are charged since the card was changed from MC World to MC World Elite) and in return you get the companion round trip ticket ($99+taxes and fees).
About this time last year there was a promotion with a $350 bonus for the signup. Now it is $250. Nice offer, but I liked last year's better. :-)
