Brazil - Taxi to train station that takes you up to Corcovado

Are the fares by taxi to/from the train station (from either a downtown Rio hotel or from Sugarloaf) to the Corcovado base train station simply metered (in other words, no surprises?). Any rough idea how much this would be?
For a couple visiting Rio for 2 days, I would assume the priorities would be:
Sugarloaf (I would assume best in the morning since sun rises in the east)
Corcovado (I would assume best in the afternoon with the sun setting to the west)
A walk along the sidewalk of Copacabana/Ipanema
Botanical Garden

The taxi should be metered. Hate to say this but it can really depend on traffic. The road into the station can be pretty clogged up.
Also note, you may get there and not be able to "go up" immediately. Depending on time/day, the tickets can get sold out pretty quick. You may end up with a ticket for later in the day.
Sugarloaf and Corcovado can easily be seen in a day, returning in time for a nice dinner someplace in the city. Also factor in clouds as both of them can be pretty fogged in. One a visit last Mar, I could not see the head of Christ standing at the foot ...
What about the beach. Spending some time just laying out on the sand at any of the beaches is really nice if you are into that sort of thing.

If you take the yellow taxis, it has to be metered. Note that the yellow taxis have a blue stripe.
It should cost you ca. R$ 25,00.
Yellow taxis departing from GIG, Central Bus Station Novo Rio and Mauá Pier (Port of Rio de Janeiro) have fixed fares to each district in town. Those three point of departures are the sole exceptions.
We did it last May. Easy. If you don't speak any Portuguese, you should still not have a big problem (taxi drivers know the term Corcovdao, though you need to specify train station and not the top of the mountain; I'd ask your hotel clerk to write it out for you). Sunset is a popular time. I wouldn't linger much after dark. Can be a bit of a hassle to get a taxi at the bottom to return, but definitely doable. Yes, make sure the taxi driver turns on the meter.

I've been twice in Rio, and both I took taxi to Corcovado from Copacabana. Can't remember how much but it wasn't too expensive, and the freedom of being there all the time you want and not fixed to a tour schedule, it really was worth it.

I've read about an integração ticket (Metro+Bus) to get the Corcovado train station. I took the integração ticket for Urca (Pao de Azucar) 3 years ago and it was easy to locate the destination and bus stop. Is the Corcovado station easy to locate also? I found this bus stations map of the 580 bus (or 584A?) but there are 3 Cosme Velho station. Does anybody know wich one is the next to Corcovado train?

It's even easier! The bus stop is the last one.
We took a taxi from Botafogo. Taxi was metered. Don't recall the fare. You're going to the Trem do Corcovado. We did have a bit of a wait for a taxi when we returned, but it was the end of rush hour and taxis were full. You have to be persistent to wave one down (there were none waiting at that time). Also, others would sometimes try to get in front if a taxi showed up. Being on the top at sunset is very popular. Not that I'd linger late into the evening (safety). You didn't ask but a taxi to the cable car station at the base of Pao de Açucar is even easier, and I've always seen taxis waiting at the bottom.
