I saw a broadcast on Japanese TV the other night where an NH representative said they would be providing menus in economy class starting in March. I don't know if they'll be provided in long-haul, short-haul, or both, but the menu they showed was in English, Japanese, and Chinese, so I'm willing to bet it will be on all routes. (The NH spokeswoman presented this as a way they are going to differentiate themselves from LCCs, but who knows what the real reason is?)
If you spot this on your flight, please let us know!

This is good news (at least to me !)
Would this be per flight ? Or like what they used to do a menu for 3 months (winter, spring, summer, fall) in the past ?
I sort of remember NH stopped having printed menus in Y since 2006, or maybe even longer.

I flew NH1005 (LAX-HND) on 3/3. The menu is something that appears to be permanent and not the same as the menus that are normally provided in business class (where the flight attendant hands them out each flight).
If it's what I saw in the seat pocket, it's one of the multitude of printed material in the pocket. I seem to recall three tabs based on the flight destination and I might be remembering the them wrong but I think it was:
Asia - anywhere outside of Asia
Intra-Asia
Korea (perhaps because they are really short flights?)
I wonder how often they will update these. They still have the laminated card they hand you so you can pick the Japanese style plate or the Western style plate. Meal was pretty good.
