Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus - No Star Aliiance award availability on TG flights with new flight numbers?

It seems that Thai recently changed flight numbers for some routes:
http://airlineroute.net/2012/02/24/tgs-s12update2/
I tried to book award seats for PNH-BKK for November and US Airways tells me that they can't do it because of the new Thai flight numbers. They say that the routes haven't been populated with award space yet.
I looked on KVS and it is showing no award availability on these routes with the new numbers either, at least for the dates I spot checked.
Any idea when this will be resolved?

The numbers changed because the flights are moving to Thai Smiles. It's promising that they're using the TG code but do we have confirmation that these flights will be considered part of TG moving forward and thus part of *A.
If you looked right above the flight listings you might have seen:
Note reservation remains not available to general public at this time.

I believe the announcements did mention mileage accrual to all Star alliance programs and with TG flight numbers it would appear it is simply a part of Thai and therefore star alliance. I guess it's just wait and see although my feeling is that Thai Smile will be part of the star alliance network. I don't think Thai would suddenly remove Star privileges on routes like Jakarta, Phnom Penh etc. Arrangement would probably be similar to regional operators flying for Lufthansa etc with LH flight numbers.

TG have not yet updated its schedules and Availability in all systems, so the US Agent was correct:

Low mile (saverpass) and high mile (easypass) available in Y and C every day between June and December at a glance from BKK-CNX.
That being said, all of the flight numbers are in the TG1XX range, not anything in the TG7XX like KVS posted below.

If its a TG1XX then it is not Thai Smile..... that does not mean the problem is fixed.

The problem does seem to be with flights with the new 7xx flight numbers. That's all of the BKK-PNH flights, and some others. They all seem to be showing no availability.

Update: All of the flights have now disappeared from CO.com, but there have been award availability problems with other carriers due to the merging of the websites this week.
I do have an award reservation for June that includes a BKK-PNH and HKT-BKK segments and they show as TG584 operated by Thai and TG226 operated by Thai (respectively) under my reservation page on co.com.

I just tried to change a departure date for a TG awards flight HKT-BKK-HKG on Mar 25. The UA agent said that Thai no longer accepts UA miles for TG flights.
I think the UA phone agent was wrong. I now see award availability for TG flights on the UA website.

The .sux website, now called .bomb, is a complete failure when it comes to S Asia itins. COdbaUA is really dropping the ball on this.

I do hope you inquired if it was TG or UA which were leaving *A.:rolleyes:
See the above, COdbaUA is not currently showing any intra-S Asia itins. I had no idea that this carried over to the phone agents also.
If I were you I'd be getting in touch with UA insider ASAP about this before you become SOL.
Please report back on this.

There is a thread in the United forum about how a significant amount of reward partner flights have dropped from the new website and it's something they are working on, but I think this issue may be a larger one.

This has nothing to do with the various COdbaUA problems.

Well, I was able to attempt to book lots of the flights for several days after they had disappeared elsewhere on the UA website.
My BKK-PNH flight is still showing as TG584. The CO website typically takes a week or two for schedule changes to show.

This is great news. I know it was mentioned this would be the case; having it in print is gratifying.
Thank you.

At the beginning of the month I was getting no availability on the ANA website for BKK - PNH in January. The aircraft was shown as A320.
Now I am getting availability, with aircraft B737-400.

Just looked at their website and it's now clear that the airline is Y-only. That's different from what was previously discussed.
There seems to be a bit of a mess in relation to the routes Thai Smile are taking over. Some online resources continue to list and sell the old flight numbers and times; others are listing and selling the new ones.
For example, on thaiairways.co.uk HKT-CNX on 3rd January 2013 is listed as TG214, leaving at 16.25 and operated by an A300. BMI booked me this flight last week, despite the flight not being listed on ANA, staralliance.com, or expedia.co.uk. Those websites have a flight on this route listed as TG722 leaving at 11.05 and operated on an A320.
I guess things will become clear with time, but for now I've got a booking on a flight that may not exist! A bit depressing that TG's own website is lagging behind, and that BMI booked me J-seats on a route that may now end up Y-only.

There seems to be a premium product in the first few rows with a more substantial complimentary food offering.
