I booked a terrace suite (fountain view) at cosmopolitan for mid-March. Do you know what the chances are to be upgraded to the Wrap around suite with the $20 trick?

I've never had a sandwich accepted at the Cosmopolitan. Lots of good info in this thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marriott-rewards/1158298-las-vegas-cosmopolitan-hotel.html).

Slim, especially if on crowded nights.

The Terrace Suite is very nice though, all you get with the wraparound is a bigger balcony and slightly bigger bathroom, and likley a worse view.

Hi, first of all I think you did the good thing in reserving a terrace suite with premium view, because this means you'll be in the west tower facing north, so you will have a very nice view of the Bellagio fountains + Eiffel tower.

So even if the sandwich doesn't work, you will have a nice room with a great view. If I were you, I would try a 50$ sandwich, and ask if any wraparounds upgrades would be available. If they say yes, there is a good change that it will be a wraparound facing south-east or south-west, which for me would be a no go. Taste in view is personal of course, but for me the fountain-eiffel tower view are so much nicer than the south facing views. Also when you would have the choice between a low level wraparound or high level terrace suite, I would still take the high level terrace suite, because a number of floors on the east tower are blocked by the big Bellagio sign. (see youtube vids).
If you really want a high level wraparound then you probably would have to pay, which can sometimes be not that much. If I'm not mistaken I think they offered me a wraparound at 150$ per night more, but we originally booked a 1 bedroom terrace room without view. Last tip : If you would get the choice of wraparound I would definately take a high floor east tower one, facing north-east. That would give you bellagio fountain + eiffel tower view, but also a good portion of the south strip.

When we stayed at Cosmo last Sept, I took a gamble. I booked a 1 bedroom terrace room without view for 5 nights. The premium view was a lot more for 5 nights... Upon checking tried a 50$ sandwich and got upgraded to a 1 bedroom terrace with premium view in the east tower somewhere on floor 32 I think, which means above the Bellagio sign. When we tried entering our room there were still people in it, so we went back to reception, remained friendly and got upgraded again to a terrace suite with premium view on floor 35. I guess we got lucky there ;-) and it was arrival on sunday. Checkout my room review if you like : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLuzOWCSKB4
