Hello All,

Tried to find a proper forum for this. Am sure someone will dive right in to correct me. So have at it.

Here is my dilemma:

Traveling LAX > NCE ...RT...on LX through ZRH.

Departing 19 JUN.
My dates are not flexible.
Need to travel on LX since family members booked on same flight, two biz award seats.

Background:
Business Class Summer Travel Special was just announced on LX website yesterday or today, but earliest date of travel is 29 JUN to qualify. Fare approx $3550.00, which is great (relatively speaking).

Currently my dates are pricing out at $5400 on the LX website.

I can get same ticket on $4550 on FareBuzz via Mobissimo

Question:
Should I suck it up and buy the best avail 4550.00 fare I can find today? Or should I wait?

Thought someone might know the seasonal timing of LX promotional deals and their associated dates.

Thanks!

Hmmm...you could speculate on another award seat becoming available, that time of the year the planes are pretty empty upfront; also, Tuesday is a good day for award flights

But if you want to be on the safe side I'm afraid you have to bit the bullet :(

Can't you book on orbitz and get a price guarantee?

You can also try to buy that flight in Z or P class (Business) on the Lufthansa website, choosing "Lufthansa Group" and "Business" as the filters below the itinerary and reservation dates. Sometimes, the results are way cheaper than on the LX site. Go figure why....

Sounds like a decent idea. Tried it just now with no luck. Going to check again during the week, as opposed to today - Saturday.

Thanks.

Good idea. But their fine print takes some of the excitement out of that program. Someone has to buy that exact same itinerary .. on orbitz.. to qualify.

Here is the print from orbitz:

If another Orbitz customer books your itinerary for less, we'll issue a cash refund for the difference. Amounts range from $5 to $250 per airline ticket or $5 to $500 per hotel booking.

I'd wait for seats to open up front, but you're assuming I have enough points.
