Asiana Club - OZ Website Anomaly - Status Credited Before Flight

I discovered today an anomaly with the OZ system that could work to someone's advantage. I did an online check-in for my upcoming flights tomorrow, assigning seats and printing out the boarding pass for one of the flights. Afterwards, I checked my Asiana Club account and clicked on the "Upgrading/Maintaining" link. It shows my total OZ flights and status miles for this qualifying period as if I'd already flown the flights for which I just checked-in. They do not though show up elsewhere. So my guess would be that with respect to status, you're given the status ahead of time for your upcoming flight. I can't guarantee it, but from the website it looks as though it might be the case. I have no idea whether or not the same thing happens if you don't do anything online, but wait until you get to the airport to check-in and assign your seats.

So for anyone who's next flight will put them over the top towards a new status level, you might want to try to do online seat assignments and/or check-in ahead of time and see if you get your new status when you go to the airport. Might make the difference for some people between getting and not getting lounge access, increased luggage allowance, etc.

I should note that of the two flights I have tomorrow, one is domestic purchased online directly with OZ, another is international purchased via Expedia. For the domestic I printed my boarding pass plus seat assignment while for the international just I did the seat assignment. Both of them have been credited towards status. I have future flights for which I've also already done my seat assignments, but those have not been credited towards my status. Only the flights for which I did this one day prior to the flight. I'll have to try to remember to check my OZ status the day before one of my future flights to see if the same thing happens with it or not.
