Swiss International Airlines - Will I get another chance to fly JFK-ARN round trip in C for $1500?

November/ december 2011 I flew a JFK-ARN round trip in C for unbelievable $1500. Or at least so it seems now.

At the time of booking I don't know if there was an LX promotion going on, I know LH had one for thanksgiving and this was around thanksgiving.

For the time being, the cheapest return flight I find at any time is more than the double. Looking at $1600 per two segments.

Does anyone know if this was an especially cheap and rare fare or if there is descent chance I'll find it again. Did very much enjoy the new C on LX, especially seat 4A.

Probably next Nov/Dec, around thanksgiving, they will run a similar promo, but of course will depend in the loads they have.
Sometimes in August they have good promos(most of Europe is on holiday) but I doubt that fares get so low.

Good luck!

On all my recent long-haul flights - Egyptair excluded - Business was 90-100% full (while Economy/Coach was sometimes half empty). I wouldn't count on prices in C going that low... Maybe it is worth checking Premium Economy prices: Economy Extra on SK, WTP on BA, Economy Comfort on KL/AF...

JFK-ZRH is now around $2500 for Z fares this summer. If I recall correctly, a couple of years ago Z fares to Europe from NYC could be had for just under $2000. Any guesses as to whether they will get lower than $2500? My own guess is no, because the price of jet fuel is unlikely to decline in the next few months.

Exactly - semi flex J LCY-JFK for £1500. Haven't seen them for over a year now. They were available up to a few days before flying too, so compared really favourably with BA which would want £4k.

Now its roughly the same: no incentive to go via Switzerland.

And if you book in advance, BA will be cheaper.

Shame - I haven't flown Swiss since.
