discover the secrets of cognac - we'll visit a distillery and have a very private visit ...
the group size is limited to 24 people
registration for La Rochelle will open in summer 2012.
Mission control: wherever you want
please read the following for the signup procedure:
To make things easier for everyone (me included), there will be "day packages", and all the FlyerTalk DO activities for the day are bundled into the cost of that day's package.
As we already did for Reims, St. Malo, the Saturday package is REQUIRED, the Sunday tour to the distillery is OPTIONAL (extra fee for bus charter)
Here's a brief summary of the packages and the anticipated costs.
SATURDAY (REQUIRED, 190€* per person - includes not only dinner on saturday but as well entrance and other fees & the bus charter.)
ALSO IMPORTANT:
- You cannot "break up" the saturday day package - you pay for the whole day, and you get to join in the fun. Of course you can drop out of events during that day, but "partial refunds" cannot be made.
- You have to prepay for Saturday (190€ per person) when you sign up.
- If you sign up for and then cancel ANY of the day packages, YOU have to find someone to take your place, and when that person pays via the above website or any other way, you will get a refund minus paypal/currency exchange and eventbrite fees - if there are any. If you do not find someone to take your place, your payments will be forfeited.
There are 24 places available. This size will be manageable for our restaurant to handle.
I promise that I will do my best to make this event as good as Strasbourg, Lyon, Toulouse, Reims and Saint Malo. I hope you will join me and the rest of the FlyerTalk Tour de France participants.
at anytime - feel free to send me a pm or an email if you have any questions - looking forward to meet you again
sometimes ... somewhere... hopefully at La Rochelle in 2013

So I guess that it is really time to figure out what to do.
Right now, the air we have arrives morning of the 19th at CDG.
What we do after that is still indefinite.
The possibilities of which I am aware are:
A - TGV from CDG to ?,
B - Add an air leg to NTE or BOD and rent a car from there,
C - Rent a car at CDG.
Any others?

Yes, I've been aware that time is getting short. I'm going to have to drop out of this year's event. I don't think the trip can comfortably be done in 48hrs and at this stage there's no way I can commit to being available on either the Friday or the Monday. Nor is that situation likely to change soon.
So I wish everybody well and I will certainly be looking out for details of the next TdF, in due course.

Lot's of decisions here. It sounds like the Angelterre is a bit nicer, but the Masqhotel is closer to the train station. Prices are now pretty much the same AFAI can tell. Under 100 EUR is quite acceptable IMO.

Oh yes. Now I remember. I will straighten out with cfischer as soon as I see him Friday night (that is if I have found a bank from which I can get enough Euros from the ATM in one day).
That is, unless he wants Yankee dollars and I will be pleased to give him them at the current exchange rate. :D

Back in Paris after a pleasant TGV ride from La Rochelle. Many thanks to Chris and Mark for organizing another great Tour-de-France Do, and to Monitor and Franny for arranging

Looking forward to the next event.

Back in the New York frozen city, and I wanted to say thank you to Chrissxb and the great party for all the organizing work!
I actually met one of the AF DO organizers at the airport (and I mixed his name, of course). It was a nice CDG based-coincident
Well, back to life...(with some macaroons)
Edited:
*Well, I was able to put my hand on the last bottle of 2007 Condrieu Les Chaillets Cuilleron a store here had.
*What are the details of the Rose Champagne and the Aperitif wine?
*2010 Quart de Chaume Papin- for some reason, did not find it on a delivery to US continental. Anyone tried/will try?
*Bad camera, so I'd like a verification:
Is this the label of the 2002 Volnay Clos de la barre jadot? (found it for good price with delivery)

Got some nice bottles from the trip, though the Gosset Grand Rose Brut champagne is out of stock even with the importer, so that would take few more weeks. Well, I wanted not to check bag, I have to deal with the consequences :)
PS- at least in the meantime, I also ordered 2002 Louis Jadot Volnay Premier (from the same dinner, 2 bottles). Now I certainly will have to do some explanations, or drinking :D
